Only if you're low-maintenancePosted Aug 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
I live in China, and was showing a couple family members around. We booked this place because it was close to Hongqiao airport and we had a very late arrival. The upsides are that the hotel is pretty close to the airport (though our taxi driver treated it as if it was a huge hassle, and whined for most of the (4km or so) ride about it, even asking for a tip at the end! Which is absurd in China. When I refused to give him one, he said "No wonder you're staying here, you're so cheap." which was pretty ominous.) and that they had no problem with a check-in time in the wee hours, and of course the low price is great. Downsides are that it's just not up to spec for most westerners' standards. It was clean enough, but JUST clean enough. Soap and shampoo came from a dispenser on the shower wall. The floor inside the door sported two advertisements for escorts. I don't mind this level of quality, because it's still safe, clean, and the bed was comfortable, but the older folks weren't into it, being used to business hotels in the USA. I would only recommend this place if you don't have very high standards. We didn't try breakfast. I also have no idea if the staff speak English, as I speak Chinese.
