Nice area and walking distance to SML Centre mall.

Pros: I liked the location, close to a subway and shopping, street food.
Cons: Maybe a little more focus on cleanliness, although it was passable.. The shower has a clear window in to the bedroom so anyone can see you in there.
Location: SML Centre and a market place provided lots of shopping. People's Square, the Bund, museum and various other sites are easily within a subway ride
The staff tried to be very helpful and there was enough that spoke some English to assist when required. Our room was one on the interior of the hotel so we had no window to outside. The bed mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The carpet was old and not vacuumed every day, only when there was things dropped on it and not frequently dusted and tables wiped.

Convenient but decieving

Good price/quality but the map in hotels.com was deceiving (its actually not that close to Xintiandi area). Staff is chinese only, if you dont speak any chinese do manage all resevations online to avoid misunderstandings and price differences.

Good for the budget traveller

Posted Aug 31, 2010 on Hotels.com
This motel was all round good. Hotel staff were courteous, but spoke limited English. The room was small but clean, everything the budget single traveller or couple could ask. It is close to the subway line (Madang Rd Station), and visible from the station. A bit noisy due to domestic travellers visiting Expo.
