The decorations are more of that of a small town in Europe, in particular the dining area. I learnt from the staff that the hotel was originally a German brand. Food varieties are not limited to Chinese, and have included that of Japanese n Western. Rooms are comfortable n have no wardrobes. Yet the open hanging rack and storage spaces are sufficient, n together they facilitate your packing as it is difficult to leave things behind in this setting. There is a small safe n a small fridge in the room.

The hotel was full when we arrived at 10pm. We were upgraded to the nearby "New World Hotel" and was offered to stay for 3 nights based on the confirmation. We explained that Expedia gave us 2 confirmation number for a 4 night stay. After they know that we have 2 confirmation, they told us that there were NO ROOMS for 3 nights and only 1 night was available. We did not want to change hotel and wanted to stay throughout the 4 nights.

Great stay
Great location seemed like a young trendy Part of town Not to far from centre. Travelled by taxi but I am sure public transport is easy and affordable if you are a bit more adventurous

Very close to ZhongShan Park train station, easy shopping and having food for travelers. This is my second time booked 5 days living here. I will choose back again.

It’s central location is excellent, breakfast is excellent offering varieties. They try to accommodate food for all foreigners but lunch and dinner needs major improvement. My recommendation is to offer Chinese authentic foods which is healthy and avoid the deep fried frozen foods from America.

staff were friendly and provided good services when asked. Front door entrance has no place to stop or a car or taxi to unload luggage. There was no help avail from the hotel with luggage from curb side to inside of hotel. The evening we arrived at the hotel, it was raining. My husband had to walk with a cane due to knee injury. There was no help avail with our luggage. Hotel is not wheel chair accessible.

Bad experience. Not allowed to have a guest to your room even if it is to drop their belongings prior to going out in the city. Staff are extremely rude and aggressive, harrassed me aggressively when we returned to collect belongings and didn't register my friend who was coming to collect her bags from room after dinner and even followed down the street after she left! Mould smell in rooms, and unpleasant odour, would not recommend staying at Penta Shanghai, there are a lot of other properties at the same price point which offer far better experience and location. Not recommended.

Very good location with reasonable price. Perfect for travel and business trips. Although I havent used the bar and restaurant, it looked great. One downside is wifi is a bit unstable.

I like the environment in the front desk, it was pretty cool, and even the uniform of the staff was unpretentious which gave me a relax feeling about the hotel. Also most of the staff was very friendly and I loved the breakfast variety. Keep up the good job :)

Beds are hard, room was nice. Check-in is all part of food/bar area so late check in on a Saturday it was very hard to hear over music and people breakfast was good.

Staff were very polite and friendly and the room I had was really nice and It was kept clean and tidy with all the ameneties.Downstairs there was a nice bar and the breakfast was ok too.I enjoyed my stay at the Pentahotel and would recommend the hotel to other people.
