Overpriced Tourist Trap

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: Location only
Cons: Staff in the SkyBar are obtuse to the point of rudeness.
Location: Everything is nearby and easily accessible - Metro across the road in Peoples Square
Chose this hotel because I have lived in Shanghai and thought the location suited us as we were only in town for a couple of days. Went to get a massage in the spa on the first night - cost RMB 2100, about three times the price on the street at a 5 star spa. Feel I was cheated. Then we got a 'buy one get one free' drink voucher for the bar - but when we went to redeem, were told it was for 'one drinker' only??? Made no sense whatsoever.

End of the Holiday

Posted May 26, 2014
Pros: Position, main sights and shopping street in easy walking distance.
Staying at the Raddison Blu Shanghai was the end of our China vacation, having started in the Langham in Hong Kong, the hotel had a lot to live up to. The hotel is part of the New World shopping complex and very close to the main shopping street. The hotel is quite modern and well appointed but the rooms are comfortable but lack character..

Great Location

This hotel is a landmark hotel in the heart of downtown Shanghai. Situated on the Nanjing Road, you have plenty of options all within close walking distance. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, with excellent service from all the staff. The only negative comment I could make is that the broadband in the rooms is very slow and I experienced repeated drops in connection, which was a problem as I was working and this impacted productivity. This is a perfect hotel for holiday makers but just a word of warning if you want to use this as a base whilst on business - poor broadband connection!

nice place

Top quality nice place. I would only say like the other 3 hotels we stayed at in China the American food is not great and not all that cheap. The breakfast buffet featured the same burned eggs all the other places also served. They like their eggs nice and crispy but the yolks might not be too warm. They just don't get it. The breakfast buffet is also expensive since there are not many items that were not "strange" in a way. The food temps were oddly off. Bacon was at best slightly warm. If the buffet is included in the room as a reasonable rate OK otherwise skip it. The coffee was lousy as it was at every other place. The hotel was nice, the room and beds were perfect and clean and great bathrooms. Staff was as good as it gets. I will stay at this property next time for sure.

Great location and great hotel

Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: Everything
I have nothing but positive comments regarding the hotel. The rooms are modern, spacious and clean with everything that you need. Great bar at in the dome on the roof with great views (a must see), although the drinks are not cheap.

Radisson Blu Hotel Experience

Posted Apr 30, 2014
Pros: It's very modern & clean. It's also very close to the city's many attractions.I
Cons: The free wired high speed internet access should have been available at the business center - not only at the room.
Location: Very nice hotel location close to many attractions.
We had a very pleasant stay at this very modern hotel that live up to its' billing as a 4-star facility. The staff were friendly & spoke English.

Location in Nanjing Road perfect

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Liked the atmosphere and felt like we were staying in a very upmarket hotel
Cons: Would have been nice to have been able to have a cheaper breakfast rather than the full on smorgasbord on offer
Location: Could walk to all the major attractions such as Nanjing Road plaza, the Bunt, Shanghai Museum, Yu Gardens, Nanshi Old Town plus many more sights
A fantastic place to stay, staff very helpful and always willing and able to give advice regarding shopping, eating out and transport issues
