Horrible Rooms, and disrespectful services.Posted Jul 19, 2013
Cons: Horrible attitude.
I had a very bad experience with this hotel. We got a club room on expedia, and when we walked in, the room looked like a warehouse. (Nothing like what the pictures described on their website). We called the reception for a change of room, and they brought us to a different room which reeked of cigarettes and I don't know what. I would have thought that after complaining for the 1st time, they would have taken better measures to serve their customers. The third room we got transferred to ended up being decent (nothing like the pictures on their site either), and it was on one of their regal suite rooms. We do not have problems with any hotels in Shanghai before, and we have stayed in many. The day we checked out, our receptionist (named Dwight) gave us the worst attitude ever. He told us that we were charged for using the mini bar, and I did not know their biscuit on top of the counter was part of the minibar so i wanted to double check, and he raised his voice at us as thought we weren't allowed to double-check. i am very displeased with the whole service Regal had from the very start till end, and I would NEVER suggest anyone who is visiting Shanghai to stay in this hotel.

Interesting....Posted Jun 4, 2013
Cons: Taxi drivers have never heard of it or this neighborhood!
Location: Off the beaten path shall we say? And yet definitely an international hotel and staff.
We arrived by taxi twice, the drivers don't seem familiar with this hotel or neighborhood. About 5-10 minutes walk from the subway. Tons of trees in this neighborhood, very unusual for Shanghai, it felt like a residential area. Lots of bars on these streets. Also many restaurants. Once you figure out the neighborhood and know where the subway is it is really very nice. Hotel restaurant is extremely overpriced, one of the highest I've seen anywhere! Free wifi was great!

Very clean hotel and close to underground/metro.Posted Dec 16, 2012
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast
Cons: Local bars frequented by prostitutes
Location: Very little in immediate location, but easy access to underground for visiting SHanghai
The hotel and staff were very good. There appears to be limited amount to do locally by walking, but easy access (about 4 minutes walk) to underground system, and this was a very easy, cheap and clean way to move around the city. In fact it was faster than using taxis because of the traffic being very bust at times. The hotel was very clean, and breakfasts were good with a very wide choice. The only possible negative comment would be that near to the hotel there are several bars which you should be aware are not just bars, in that as a male traveler these bars seem to be frequented by prostitutes. Although this occurs in most big cities please be aware that walking back at night you would certainly be propositioned, but it is easy just to walk by.

Deserves its 5-star rating.Posted Dec 1, 2012
Truly a first-class hotel with a five-star rating. Ultra-modern room with a high "cool" factor (my 25-year-old son loved it). Very professional, very polite staff. Located in the lovely "French concession" section of Shanghai; reminds me a little of Georgetown in Washington, D.C. Great value. Highly recommend it.

I will recommemed this hotel to any onePosted Oct 29, 2012
Pros: hall way
Cons: food is pricy
location is good, only 5 mins walk to xiu jia hui. room condition is fairly good. (it shows a a bit old-consider it's rating of 4.5 star status) During our 6 days stay, service is good but I don't feel they vacuum the floor, also it misses to replace the bath towel for one day (I had to call the service to replace them)
