“Grat Value for the money”

We enjoyed our stay at the Salvo Hotel in Shanghai. The location is close to the metro and the view from our hotel room of Shanghai was superb. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood on our way to the metro. This hotel is a great value for the money. Our rooms were luxurious--we were given a suite with a view overlooking Shanghai!

Pros: upgraded suite, beautiful views, good location, good breakfast with lot of variety Cons: no wifi, suite comes with a computer but even after 3 visits from IT I never got into email. Had to go to the hotel a block away to get wifi. There is no question that I would recommend this hotel. It was so nice to come back to a large suite after a busy day

Location close to public transportation and walking distance from Bund, is excellent. Service in hotel during check in and during our stay was excellent, staff was very friendly. Good value, I would certainly go back to this hotel.

“Great value hotel in Shanghai”

Excellent location - close walk to the Bund, Yuyuan Gardens, Nanjing Road. Great to have use of the internet. There is a desktop computer but we used our laptop as had access to Skype on it. Going to the 31st floor to check in is a little odd. Hotel info says check out is also on 31 floor, but this is not the case. We found the furnishings and room facilities excellent - bed very firm though. Would definitely stay here again.

“Most comfortable bed we had in 3 weeks in China”

We had 7 hotels booked within China over 3 weeks & this was the best (got special Expedia rate for an Executive business room) The bed was so comfortable & the sheets so nice that we didn't want to get up & go out (every other hotel we had no matter how nice in the foyer had a bed like concrete.) Close walking down to the Bund on the river (turn right) or left to Nanjing Rd though we prefer the local shops to buy at than all the big labels. Yuyuan Gardens area was definately worth a visit to see the old buildings with new shops built within though we didn't go into the gardens part because of a massive snow dump the night before which made us sit at Yichang airport for 9 hours the night before waiting for the plane to come & didn't arriva at hotel until 1am. We were flying out of Hangzhou with Air Asia so we caught our first subway train on Line 10 subway (a few mins walk with our luggage) to the new Hongquio Railway Station & then a bullet train down south which took 45 mins. We had a great view from this hotel too & we really enjoyed our stay here.

“excellent location, very good service”

The hotel is superbly located. Close to Nanjing pedestrian mall, and Nanjing E metro station, 15 mins walk to Yu gardens and ferry to Pudong, and 5 mins to the Yuangpu river. You can take the metro from the airport directly to E Nanjing station and walk 15 mins up Shandong road to the hotel. Easy as. Concierges speak English, and are very helpful. There are a lot of shops on the street to buy daily provisions, an excellent laundromat across the street that launders for a third of the hotels charges, and an economical restaurant called Saizeriya just a mins walk from the hotel going towards Peoples square.

“VERY GOOD HOTEL IN THE BUND”

SALVO HOTEL AT 400 METERS FROM EAST NANJING ROAD METRO STATION IS A VERY CONVINIENT LOCATION FOR VISITING SHANGHAI. JUST TAKE METRO AT THE AIRPORT AND REACH HOTEL IN AN HOUR WITH ONE DOLLAR FARE. BUSINESS ROOMS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE WITH KING BEDROOM AND SEPARATED LIVING ROOM WITH A COMPUTER AND FREE WI FI ACCESS. 2 TV. BATH TUBE AND SHOWER IN MARBLE FLOORED BATHROOM. FURNITURE IN MODERN CHINESE STYLE IS GOOD. MORE THAN I EXPECTED FOR A 4 STAR HOTEL. BUFFET BREAKFAST INCLUDED IS OK BUT NOT GREAT WHEN COMPARED TO ROOM FACITIES. I WOULD STAY AT SALVO HOTEL AGAIN BECAUSE YOU RECEIVE GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY YOU SPEND, AT A VERY GOOD HOTEL IN EXCELENT LOCATION.

“Top Notch Service without the 5-Star price”

During a 2-week stay in the hot month of July, the hotel's a/c and in-room climate control worked extremely well. Hotel staffs were always polite and provided extras such as tourist maps, directions, extra power-bar, iron and ironing board. The beds are very comfortable but the feather pillows go flat quickly, giving no head support; a foam pillow option would be nice. The higher floors provide fantastic city views and the windows seal out any traffic noise. After one week, the maid brought us fresh fruit and a floral bouquet, all complimentary. The fitness facility is average and only opens from 10:00-22:30 so if you're jet-lagged and need an early morning workout you're out of luck. The location is very good, only 4 block to Nanjing Road and Metro line 2, and an equal distance to the Bund. The rooms are exactly as pictured - no unpleasant surprises here.
