“just a good location”

It's a great location , just two blocks from the bund, the hotel is cheap, but do not expect more than that. Employees can´t stop making noise, the quality of the breakfast is so bad, they should think to stop serving it, i just took it two days, was better to buy something from a nearby family market. Internet is ok, but not wifi on the rooms, just cable connection. not a single english tv channel. I paid so cheap, so it was ok.. ah.. the beds are chinese style, rock hard jeje

“Great.”

Hotel itself was great. Staff was ... matter of fact. Minimal English, but it's China, so I don't expect staff to speak my language.

“Nice hotel and good deal for Expedia's pricing”

Nice for the Expedia price but not worth the hotel's listed prices >100usd.

“Location is different from expedia map”

This hotel is located besides of the subway station in the expedia map. But it is far from the station. 15 minutes walking and sometimes might difficult to find the hotel especially in the night time. Needed to check the location before you go.

“not suggested”

It is a small size hotel. English language is really rare here. Could have other better hotel with the same price.

“Everywhere smelled of thick cigerette smoke”

Overall, the stay was OK. The worst thing was the cigerette smoke smell everywhere in this hotel including inside the room. We asked for a non smoking floor because we had a 8 month old baby. Eventhough there are no-smoking signs on the walls the cigerette smoke smell was unbearable. Front desk staff were not helpful at all! The security guard was very helpful.

“Baron Hotel”

I picked this hotel as a cheap place to stay in shanghai for one night. Lobby smelled like smoke, room window looked out at a concrete wall. Noisy at night...my neighbor must have taken some of the additional services offered on the street outside the hotel. Not a good neighborhood. Not recommended. If you are in shanghai, pay 20 or 30 more USD and get a deal at the Grand Mercure. I am there now and love it.

“Great Bund location, nice decor but no views”

Great location for those who would like to be in the Bund area. If room with views is a must for you, forget it. There are no pleasant views either to the front or to the rear of the hotel, so they tried to make up for it by boosting the interior decor. And they have done a reasonably good job. When I first checked in, there was no hot water and the bathroom was not clean, but in less than 5 minutes the reception desk first apologized, and got me a better room. So I was satisfied by how they value their customers. Not impressed by the hotel food, but when in Shanghai you probably would like to explore the famous local places anyway. There is free internet access, but no wireless - so it did not work for my itouch. I recommend the hotel and would stay there again. Last but not least, prices were reasonably aligned to hotels of same category.

“Good location, bad rooms and service”

The hotel is in a nice location 10 min walk from the subway and Nanjing road and there is free wired internet in each room. However, almost all the rooms of the hotel have no view. My room window was facing a window which is 5 inches away and there was no sunlight. The rooms are not very clean and the pillows were dirty. Moreover the sound isolation is very poort thus I can hear even the snoring of the people in the other room. Overall, I don't recommend this hotel. There exists many hotels at this location and I will try others if I go to Shanghai again.
