this hotel I believe is part of a chain, we liked it here and they had thought of everything one could need for a stay,
The room was comfortable and the English speaking staff were efficient and professional.
The only let down was that the food here was expensive, I wouldn't really bother to eat here, and the coffee was exp too.
The location isn't too bad, we found the train ok, but it is a bit of a hike, however taxis in Shanghai are cheap enough and the metro is fine once you walk there.

Only there one night. Taxi had great difficulty finding property even after I contacted reception on mobile and asked them to advise driver how to get there from Shanghai HongQiao railway. Entrance not clearly signed.
Tired and hungry by the time we arrived in the evening so ordered room service hot meals that arrived to the room cold! We were quite disappointed.

A beautiful, clean hotel in a fantastic location, right on People's Park and across the road from a subway entrance. A one minute walk to Huanghe Road, one of Shanghai's prime food streets. Very comfortable beds, which was a nice change from the typically very hard beds we found in our accommodation in other parts of China. The hotel staff were also incredibly helpful, going out of their way to provide assistance. I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Best Hotel in Shanghai!, Perfect location, close to restaurants, bars, consulants, hospital, airport"
As an American on business in China, finding the right hotel is becoming more of an important aspect of ensuring I get the needed comfort and rest for my business the next day. There are plenty of English speaking receptionists who can help me get taxis to bars, restaurants, and the Pudong airport. They understand the importance of quick service and have been accommodating every time I have visited. There are places to dine, work out, and have business meetings all inside the hotel. There is a hospital within walking distance and access to freeways within a KM. I have had hotel employees walk more then a mile with me to help me find the right medicine I needed from a specific pharmacy, along with translating the transaction and making sure I paid the right amount and didn't pay too much. Whether you are a first time visitor to Shanghai on holiday, or a long time businessmen coming back on a normal basis. I highly recommend the Shanghai Hotel.

This is my 2nd time staying with Hua Ting. A family of four with two young boys, we need flexibility, convenience, cleanness and space. Hua Ting provides all those conditions, with its perfect location (walking distance to a number of favored restaurants and transportation stations), flexible hours and revamped interior decor. We loved it. The boys were amazed at the night view of the landscape and went for the "see through" elevator every time day and night. Staff was friendly and professional. The only thing to complain was the check-in process. I had to wait for 15 minutes before being attended. There could be more staff on duty for evening check-in hour (it was a working day around 19:00). There was a line of guests.
