Convenient Hotel in Shanghai

Posted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: Location was good
Cons: Sophistication of the service
Location: Close to the Bund
Generally a new Hotel with mostly good quality amenities. Breakfast buffet is very good and wide variety. The executive lounge is very nice, but the cocktail service only runs from 17:30 to 20:00 -- plan accordingly. The WiFi is ok, but does not work in the lobby Staff is generally ok, but not very polished. Not bad value for money, but not the SwissHotel brand you would expect in the rest of the world.

Excellent hotel. Excellent location.

Pros: Location. Very quiet room. Nice touches (e.g., espresso machine).
Location: Jing-An Temple is worth seeing, and is right next to the hotel. The French concession is nearby, complete with nice restaurants.
I needed a nice hotel in the Jing-An Temple area of Puxi. My customer was staying at the Hilton nearby, but the Swissotel, in my opinion, was much nicer for roughly the same price. The room was great, complete with espresso machine, and especially quiet for Shanghai. The property was located right over the Jing-An metro station, which I used to get to their airport the next day.

The hotel staffs are friendly and capable of speaking English. It is clean and close to metro system. The airport express station is also behind the hotel within 2 minutes of walking.

Great hotel in Shanghai.

Cons: Maybe food/breakfast options?
Had tried the Swissotel in other cities and took a chance on the Shanghai branch. Really liked the rooms. Quite roomy, very clean. No complaints. Centrally located and very polite, prompt staff. Would strongly recommend.

Good location

Pros: Location, nice fitness center
Cons: Prices at the hotel bar are outrageous! Over 10 bucks for a small beer!! (Prices of the room minibar however are very acceptable)
Location: Lot's of stuff within walking distance.
Nice hotel at good location. Many shops and bars within walking distance. However, if you can't find a deal, it is on the pricy side.

Very disappointed in managers responses

Posted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: Location and convenience
Cons: More accommodating to patrons rather than making money Lack hotel stewardship
Location: Subway and bus depot adjacent
Lack in honoring patrons. Naive management style. Arrogant staff to accommodate guests. Need overhaul and training in management and staff. They lack understanding there are many optional hotels in area! Executive breakfast until 1030 however everything is packed away 10am.
