“Beautiful Resort with amazing views and easy snorkeling”

This is a great resort. The property was designed beautifully and it was very well maintained. There are several nice restaurants in the resort, also (try Silk Road...great Asian). The pool is huge and the view from the jacuzzi is amazing. My only complaint is there is no real beach. The resort is right on the reef, so the snorkeling is super, but the only sand beach is man-made, and held up by a rock wall above the reef. Pay extra for the "Club Rotana" rooms. Included is a free breakfast and a free happy hour every evening (with food), which is worth the extra money (alcohol is very expensive in Egypt).

“Great experience in Sinai!”

Turistic information about city not avaliable in person. Only for tell. The concierge didn´t explain nothing about to go for a walk in Sharm el Sheik.

“What a value for the money !”

Upon arrival we were upgraded into a superior room overlooking the Red Sea and pool, with great English-language movie channels for lazy evenings in & an attentive cleaning staff. The rooms were tastefully decorated,& the balcony included a cushioned reading nook. The pool area was extensive and included an adults-only infinity pool, plus a heated kid's pool . There was always a pool chair available - and friendly staff to adjust it (and umbrellas) for you, and provide drinks/snacks. Chairs were also available on sandy, grassy areas down below the pool overlooking the ocean. The grounds were well kept, every staffperson was helpful, & the reception staff spoke several languages. The extensive buffet breakfast had something for everyone. I highly recommend the hotel's Silk Road restaurant with reasonable prices, excellent food, & a nonsmoking section. To mention a few downsides, I would say that during the winter season, the main pool is too cold for swimming. Also, young Russian tour groups swarm the area - not always the most sophisticated travelers to share a hotel with. The internet connection is very expensive. The 'beach' is not a sand swimming beach - it is a snorkeling area off floating pontoons. Taxis or shuttles are available into Na'ama Bay, which is like a crazy Vegas-meets-Disneyland attraction, with hoards of touts trying to get you into their restaurant. Overall, a really nice experience and a very pleasing hotel !

“Best resport I have ever stayed at!”

The value for money at this resport is incredible! The resort is very large but not full of people. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms are very comforatable and well decorated. The only downside is that the big pool is not heated and too cold to go in when it isn't very hot out. The snorkling that is avaialbe right at the resort is spectacular! The service of all the staff was superb. The breakfast buffet is decent, but nothing special. Grand Rotana is a spectacular resport and I would definately come back again!

“Excellent self-contained resort”

We spent a very relaxing four nights at the Grand Rotana. We had booked a Deluxe room, but the hotel was quite empty and on asking at check-in we were upgraded to a room with a full sea view. There is enough on offer inside the resort that it would have been possible to spend our entire stay there, but we took advantage of the on-site Camel Dive centre to arrange diving and snorkelling trips (which involved a minibus trip to Naama Bay). The resort has quite a long section of reef where you can do some good snorkelling without having to go anywhere else. The breakfast buffet was good, and among the various dinner options we were particularly impressed with the Silk Road oriental restaurant. We found prices comparable to UK restaurant prices, or slightly cheaper. For lunch there are several reasonably-priced options, including pizza or pasta at the Italian restaurant for EGP 50-60. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. There is even a pharmacy on-site which stays open late (if you forget your insect repellent, like us!), but it was over-priced compared to Naama Bay, so only use it if necessary. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

“Great Honeymoon”

My wife and i went there for our honeymoon! loved the place! beautiful beach and an awesome pool. The food can be better... and the shuttle should be more frequent to Naama bay since taxis have hard time going into the hotel.. but the overall experience was awesome.

“Good Value”

We actually got a double upgrade, which was nice. I think they had run out of sea view rooms, which we had booked. In the end, the double upgrade looked like what we thought we were getting at two grades below, but I think a lot of the upgrade was simply where the room was located, which was right on the sea. The staff were genuinely friendly and pleased to see us, although the service was slow. The buffet restaurant isn't great, and breakfast wasn't good enough to see us go back again. The oriental restaurant produced good food, but again mediocre service. The watersports people were very helpful, and the pool (which is huge) and the hotel's stretch of sea was very good. Recommend renting some snorkeling gear on the first day - you'll want to go every day. About 10 - 15 minutes taxi ride to the town centre. Would stay here again.
