“Waterfront is a big plus+”

Great hotel but the restaurant had gone out of business 1 week before we arrived.

“Best in the area”

I travel to the area frequently and have stayed in several hotels. This is the best one and I will stay there exclusively from now on. Note - the wireless internet is only in the lobby. For the room they will supply you with a cable - but you have to ask.

“just OK,”

but the way the rooms are set up there are hallways on either side and therefore noisey. The hotel takes no advantage of it's location on the lake - rooms and resuraunt do not look out at lake. Te staff are friendly and the bar is comfortable. the bar and hotel food are adequate at best.

Area recommendations
Downown area - submarine museaum and downtown shops are all within walking distance. the court house resturant is best in town

“Pleasant stay in Manitowoc”

The hotel has recently been taken over by Best Western and renovated. it is much brighter and nicer than when I stayed there a few years ago. It is still dog friendly, and is located right on Lake Michigan near downtown Manitowoc. The only hitch was it was so cold that the side door key card entry ways were frozen shut, so had to move the car and bring everything in throught the front door rather than the entrance nearest the lake view room.

Dining
Be sure to eat at the Court House. It has great food, also makes its' own root beer, and has a small but nice wine list.
