Nice clean hotel, accommodating

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: location, friendliness, cleanliness and bedding
Cons: Breakfast ok-awkward to access/ usual buffet trays. but crammed together on top of each other with lids that are in the way- too tight space
Location: nice location right near the heart of Culpeper
Stayed here after attending a local concert at State Theater. Clean, comfortable, and accommodating! Very helpful staff.

Lovely, Clean Hotel near our Family Search Area

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: The above speaks that we liked everything.
Cons: I can't think of a thing.
Location: This hotel is a couple of miles from the historic area of Culpepper, Va., where we had driven to do a family search. We only had time to walk around.
The front desk was most welcoming and after a very long day of driving we greatly appreciated the warmth. The room was spacious, and the bathroom also along with lovely granite and a roomy shower. The hair, skin and mouth wash, etc. were good quality. The mattress and pillows were just the correct amount of firmness and we slept well. The breakfast had many tasty offerings and good coffee provided in a lovely setting.

Very Pleasant & Comfortable Hotel

Posted Aug 1, 2014
We have relatives in and around Culpeper so we rarely have an opportunity to stay elsewhere. We were in town this trip for a reunion and chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express because it was rated well and was near where our event was taking place. We were expecting your average hotel experience but were pleasantly surprised to find this particular Holiday Inn Express to be particularly well appointed and comfortable. It has been recently updated and the bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever experienced. It was nicely decorated, extremely clean, and the staff was very accommodating. We would highly recommend it.

Very good hotel with one major flaw

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was decent considering that it's free and it's a holiday inn. Clean rooms and helpful staff.
Cons: They really need to fix the drapes to allow guests to black out the room.
Location: Near downtown Culpeper, which has nice restaurants and stores. A short drive to nearby vineyards and the Shenandoah mountains. 1.5 hours from DC.
Clean, decent breakfast, helpful staff, very convenient, quite comfortable. However, I was extremely disappointed to see that the drapes in my room didn't completely block out the sun. I woke up at 6am and had to sleep facing away from the window in order to fall back asleep. I think that this is the first and only hotel I've stayed at in my life where you couldn't "black out" the room. Would it really have been that expensive to put the drapes on tracks to let guests cover up the entire window? The walls were also a bit thin and I clearly heard water running from upstairs rooms, but I don't think that those are real negatives for the hotel. For a hotel of this price, it's to be expected. Really, everything about my stay was great, and quite a bit more comfortable and cleaner than I expected. But not being able to close the drapes over the window was a huge annoyance.

Great Place to Stay

Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: Cost, size, cleanliness
Cons: We didn't have water the next morning and the staff didn't offer us another room until we mentioned it.
Location: Short drive to Shenendoah, dining and shops close by.
We stayed here because we wanted to visit the Shenendoah National Park before we went into DC to finish our trip. The hotel is very clean, modern, roomy and offers great amenities. The breakfast is way more than a continental breakfast and they have snacks and water placed about the lower floor. Nice indoor pool, vending area and ice machines.

A Little Noise

Posted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our stay was going great until 1:15 am - across the hallway was a party going on. Unfortunately the young men kept going in and out slamming the door. I finally got up and asked them to keep it own. Around 2:00 am things got quiet. Our second night we slept peacefully. Staying at other Holiday Inn Expresses in the past months at various cities they were quiet.

Nice family hotel

Posted Apr 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Only issues was that the price that hotels.com offered was $20 more than what Holiday Inn offered. We accidentally received a quick check out bill under our door quoting a lower price, but we had already paid hotels.com. Room was nice and breakfast was pretty decent!
