“Good 5 Star Hotel”

The room is clean and is relatively new when we were there. We stayed in the Deluxe Room with the city view. Which in Shenzhen terms means in front of the construction site. Room size os about 40 sq metres which is standard. The room design is modern and amenties are adequate. Inside the room you can find everything a 5 star hotel have. Good quality bathroom amenities, big wardrobes and safe are all standard. Flat LCD TV with cable TV channels. Two telephones (one in the bathroom), a fridge and a writing desk. * Things I like about this hotel * 1. The Internet - It is free including the free WiFi. A bonus as most 5 stars hotels will charge you for internet these days. 2. The Service - Check-in was smooth and efficient and all staff are helpful. * Things I don't like about this hotel * 1. The Staff - Not a criticism but there are rooms for improvement for the english language skills. I cannot recall anyone addressing me with my name either. 2. The Restaurants - The price is rediculously expensive. 3. The Location - The hotel is near the major Metro Line 4. The Swimming Pool.

“Top Hotel in central area”

Marco Polo is in the centre of the business area, shopping here is a bit pricey but good quality but a short train or taxi ride gets you to the bargin areas of town. Reasonably close to airport and ferry (Sheiko) which takes you direct to Hong Kong airport - no need to enter HK. Have stayed at MP many times and has never dissapointed

“Suprised and Impressed”

This is definitely a 5 star hotel with Chinese hospitality. It's a great atmosphere and very clean. Service was great and the rooms were very nice. Things were expensive like most 5 stars however and make sure you bring a swim cap because you can't use the pool without them (they don't supply them and they can't tell you where to find them) which is a bummer. There are some good places to eat in the neighborhood and a McD's right next door. The best thing was, everyone knew the Marco Polo. It was very convenient.

“First Choice in Shenzhen”

I've stayed in several Hotels in Shenzhen, but this one is always at the top of my list. The value is terrific and the rooms are great. The location is pretty convenient and the views are impressive. All in all this hotel is a great choice.

“A great hotel for non-Chinese speakers who are used to certain service level”

This hotel is really a 5 star hotel. As a non-Chinese speaking person who was spending 23 days in Shenzhen, I picked the Marco Polo to make sure that I can get English service. However, once I checked in, I realized that, not only the staff spoke very good English but the hotel itself was great. My room was big and comfortable, and the hotel services (gym, pool, restaurants) were also great. It is sincerely one of the best hotels I have visited and I have seen quite a lot. The location is also convenient for a foreigner as it is close to Coco Park (lots of shopping and restaurants) but also one block from a subway station. In addition, it is walking distance to interesting places to see like the Shenzhen City Hall which is a beautiful building. Of course, one downside of the location is that everything is more expensive around, you pretty much pay US prices. I had dinner at the hotel a few times and the food was very good but definitively expensive as compare to anything else in China. Also, I used the laundry service and it was also very expensive when on think about how much they are paying for the staff to perform the cleaning. But I took it as the price to pay to be in an hotel where I can get service in English and a very comfortable accomodation. I highly recomment the Marco Polo and was really feeling like home after a long day out.

“Good location”

Very good quality hotel walking distance to many shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Being the business end of town shops are high end. A short taxi ride takes you to the bargin areas and the electronics mecca, a street full on with anything that plugs in!!! Hotel staff all speak english and are very helpful in directions to shops to arranging transport to Hong Kong airport. Be sure to grab the translation card so you can show and point to taxi drivers.

Hotel was nice, staff was friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and clean. Visitors are walking distance to the Coco Park shopping district - many good restaurants and pubs nearby
