Good service, bit of a walkPosted Aug 31, 2011
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was quite basic but clean. It was a bit of a walk into town (about 10-15 minutes, part of it up a very steep hill) but Ok as long as you're reasonably fit. Good value for money.

Just spend that little extraPosted Aug 16, 2011 on Hotels.com
Shimla seems to be much more expensive in hotels - compared to the rest of the places we visited in India (Agra, Delhi, Manali). But dont cheat your self, and spend a little extra in Shimla thus avoiding staying at Pine View.. Service is no good. Took 1 hour before we got the room key - we got shown to the room, but then the guy wandered off (with the room key), and we had to go the the reception, which spend 1 hour finding another key. Room was moist - to say the least. Bedsheets were not clean, and bathroom not clean either. This is the only place we stayed, where we used sandals in while showering to avoid standing in the "dirt". And last location. Hotel is located "away" from town. A 30/40 minute walk from the mall road. And its located in an area with out street lights. Great fun when walking home at night time. At least all the traffic lights up the road.
