Good choice if you want this location. Not luxury but very nice especially for the price we paid at about $100. Free shuttle to station runs every 15 minutes or you can walk easily, probably less than a half mile and easy. Very good breakfast buffet with a lot of choice including western or western-like foods. Sufficient English instructions in room and, although front desk staff are not proficient, they are friendly and helpful.

I can't believe you can get a hotel this good for the price we paid. The location is a little out of the way but the room is so good you wouldn't want to leave anyway (massage chair and a spa, what more could you want).

I used to live in the neighborhood of the hotel and I have traveled to Japan many times and stayed at many comparable hotels. This is one of the best for the money. Staff are professional and pleasant, the room was clean and had all of the important amenities. It is a five minute walk from the train. Easy to get to the airport and to downtown Osaka. Safe, quiet, convenient, and reasonably priced.

Be aware that Hotel Shin Osaka and Shin Osaka Hotel are two different hotels. I booked Shin Osaka hotel but the associated Google map shows Hotel Shin Osaka. Upon arriving at this hotel, i was told that the hotel I booked was Shin Osaka hotel which is one station away.
I booked this hotel thinking that it was a stones throw from Shin Osaka station but it ended up being a 5 minute walk from Nishinakajimaminamigata station. Ironically, this turned out to be a better location. Having stayed near Shin Osaka in the past, I always found the surrounding area to be very sterile and boring. On the other hand, the area around Nishinakajimaminamigata station is quite lively with lots of restaurants and pubs. A small price to pay for a 2 minute train ride to the south. Chances are that you'll probably be going south to Umeda anyways.

Hotel room is small, and the bathroom is even smaller, it's like you standing in a half-size bathtub for a shower, and that's it, no extra space. hotel front desk and walkway is full of smell of cigarette, we stayed on the 3rd floor, which is non smoking area, but still can smell the odor sometimes. the hotel is so small, the lobby (if that means the area when you steeping in the hotel and waiting for the front desk) is tiny, so they don't keep luggage for anyone, don't be there too early before check in time, there is no place for you to rest, and same for after check out. you can hear the train passing by outside of the window, but on the other hand, good thing is that it's very close to the train station.
