DissapointedPosted Feb 26, 2014
Cons: Rooms, Breakfast, everything
Location: Good location, but pretty much any hotel in this area on the lake is
Let me first say that I tried, for the first time ever, Expedia's unpublished rates...big mistake! So I got this hotel which was basically the SAME price published. The lobby is nice and for a second I thought I made a good choice..then I came to my room.. Firstly, the door just didn't open well...you need to force it in order to open it! Room was basic..to put it nicely...Bathroom was small, old, and looks like they refurbished but didn't really take the time to match the floor tiles... Towels had holes... And the breakfast..ouch...orange juice machine didn't work and food looks like it has been there for a week!

Dirty sheetsPosted Jan 20, 2014
The bed had been made with some sort of oily looking stained sheets ( I'm thinking some type of lubricant). I asked to be switched to another room and was told that wasn't an option but I could come down to the front desk to pick up some sheets and change them myself. There was also a liquid all over the elevator floor. I told the front desk clerk, there seemed to be little to no concern about cleaning it up. I would not ever stay at this particular hotel ever again.

Best Western Hotel stay in Shreveport, LAPosted Dec 31, 2013
Pros: Besides being a nice hotel it was conveniently located. We were there for a wedding...so, we don't know about the surrounding area activities.
Cons: I cannot think of a thing I would suggest changing.
Location: Don't know since we were there just for the night for a wedding.
After we booked this hotel I read some reviews...some were not too good. After we checked into the hotel we were surprised...a beautiful hotel...pretty old but well kept. It is an elegant hotel. The rooms were clean and everything was convenient.

Don't judge a book (hotel) by its cover!!Posted Dec 3, 2013
When we drove up, I must admit my heart sank. However, I am happy to say the moment I stepped foot inside, I was most pleasantly surprised!! The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. The breakfast alone was worth the stay. The shuttle driver was accommodating as well :) Go ahead and give it a try!

Disappointing & DigustedPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: The cast iron stair railing in the check-in area was very appealing, but other than that, nothing.
Cons: Patient professional staff. Change the cash refund process (especially for those that live out-of-state).
Location: I was there solely to attend a funeral. This was not a pleasure trip for me.
The check-in experience was most unpleasant because the receptionist did not have a warm inviting behavior. I paid cash for my room, and upon giving me the direction to my room, the receptionist used the landscape map, and gave instructions very quickly. I told her this was my first time in this facility and area, and I ask if she could be more detailed for me. She proceeded unpleasantly as though I was unlearned. It took my daughter and I about 15 minutes with heavy luggage to make it to our room after a second trip to the receptionist. I was never told that our room was in the adjacent building. There was a sewage odor in the corridor by the reception area, and upon my inquiry, the receptionist stated that there were renervations in progress to the bar. With the unprofessional behavior and the odor, I could not stay. I ask the receptionist for a cash refund, and she stated I would have to contact expedia. I called a friend who gave me a number to another hotel whose rating was less than Best Western Chateau, but the experience was pleasant, clean, and inviting. I call Best Western Chateau, the next morning about my cash refund, and was told I would have to wait for the manager who would return Monday. I also called the 1-800 number who stated that they could not intervene with the process of the cash refund, and gave me a miniscule peace offering. Thus, I left the city, and returned home without my refund.

Good stay for the pricePosted Nov 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was one of the more 'mid range' priced hotels that offered a free 24 hour shuttle to the airport, which is what was important to me. My biggest complaint is that the walls were thin, I could hear the people on both sides of me talking, and at least one family was not talking loud AT ALL, but I could still hear them easily. The other was a family with little kids. They were quite loud at first, but thankfully the kids went to bed early and everything was much quieter afterwards.
