Don't judge a book (hotel) by its cover!!Posted Dec 3, 2013
When we drove up, I must admit my heart sank. However, I am happy to say the moment I stepped foot inside, I was most pleasantly surprised!! The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. The breakfast alone was worth the stay. The shuttle driver was accommodating as well :) Go ahead and give it a try!

Disappointing & DigustedPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: The cast iron stair railing in the check-in area was very appealing, but other than that, nothing.
Cons: Patient professional staff. Change the cash refund process (especially for those that live out-of-state).
Location: I was there solely to attend a funeral. This was not a pleasure trip for me.
The check-in experience was most unpleasant because the receptionist did not have a warm inviting behavior. I paid cash for my room, and upon giving me the direction to my room, the receptionist used the landscape map, and gave instructions very quickly. I told her this was my first time in this facility and area, and I ask if she could be more detailed for me. She proceeded unpleasantly as though I was unlearned. It took my daughter and I about 15 minutes with heavy luggage to make it to our room after a second trip to the receptionist. I was never told that our room was in the adjacent building. There was a sewage odor in the corridor by the reception area, and upon my inquiry, the receptionist stated that there were renervations in progress to the bar. With the unprofessional behavior and the odor, I could not stay. I ask the receptionist for a cash refund, and she stated I would have to contact expedia. I called a friend who gave me a number to another hotel whose rating was less than Best Western Chateau, but the experience was pleasant, clean, and inviting. I call Best Western Chateau, the next morning about my cash refund, and was told I would have to wait for the manager who would return Monday. I also called the 1-800 number who stated that they could not intervene with the process of the cash refund, and gave me a miniscule peace offering. Thus, I left the city, and returned home without my refund.

Very nice hotel. Quiet and close to the freeways.Posted Nov 25, 2013
I was there for three nights. The room was clean and in good order. The breakfast in the am had a good variety of food. The service was good. I would stay there again. The rate is a factor, as I found it to be very reasonable.

Don't believe the picturesPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was old and smelled of mildew. The old window unit AC took six hours to cool and never shut off. The place needs a major lift from the 70's decor they currently have. We stayed two nights and the cleaning staff thought that meant we do not need the room cleaned or even bring new towels. If going to Shreveport keep looking

This hotel was nasty dirty!Posted Sep 1, 2013
Cons: Deep cleaning. New linens, towels, etc
Since we pre-paid and it was a holiday weekend we had to stay here. Otherwise we won't not have stayed. The room was dirty, the bathroom filthy. The tub had standing water in it that looked like the toilet had backed up into it. The floor around the back of the toilet had urine on it. And if those two things aren't gross enough...... The bath towel had a huge stain on it that looked like blood. My husband went down for the free breakfast. The ceiling tile directly over the breakfast buffet was missing and pink insulation was hanging out. Oh yeah, in the middle of the night the fire alarm went off. We jumped up and we were on our way out of the room we it turned off. I wish we would have just left then. We could not get out of there fast enough. Extremely disappointed!!!

Very out-dated.Posted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: Price. It was cheap.
Cons: Room condition. I found the lampshade was broken, there were scrapes on the wall, and bathroom was out-dated. In fact, the whole room was out-dated.
Location: Just on the outskirts of downtown. Not near much.
Room and bathroom were clean. But out-dated furniture. It was cheap, but it showed it. Will not stay there again.
