DisappointedPosted Dec 2, 2013
Dead spider hanging from cobweb. Hairs on bath from previous occupants. Noisy guests, you could hear the conversation from above and noisy late night revellers.

Great for a good value stay and warming breakfast!Posted Mar 22, 2013
Pros: Breakfast and friendly receptionist/dinner host.
Cons: Cold room!
Location: Lovely location, with it's own golf course if you fancy a knock around.
Myself and my father came to stay at this hotel while meeting friends in Shrewsbury. It is advertised as 4*star, and maybe some parts of the hotel were... but I think we may have been placed in the cheap-wing (we paid £35 for a twin room including full English in the morning). The room was sizeable but cold... the radiator was underneath the single-glazed window (which didn't close fully) so warmth was escaping quickly. The bathroom door didn't hold shut and the hot water flow made a funny noise. Other than that, in the room, all was well. The furniture was old and a bit of it was tatty but it was really good, solid quality, kind of rustic :) Lots of space to store things and the beds were wonderfully snug! Clean sheets etc, lovely dresser to get ready. Breakfast was fantastic. We were named on the breakfast list and had a table reserved for us already. Lots of fruit, cereals and juices to choose from as well as tea and coffee served. Full English breakfast was made to order, fresh and delicious. The gent on reception was also extremely friendly. Slightly let down when making a telephone enquiry by a lady on reception who hung up on us! Hopefully by accident.I do bet there are some really nice rooms in that place, hidden away! One thing that is a shame is that it doesn't have any leisure facilities except the Golf. A small gymnasium would be an attractive feature.

Wonderful staffPosted Mar 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were only there for l night, but the staff arranged for us to have early access to our booked room so we could change for a wedding at 1.30 at another hotel, the staff were all very friendly and gave superb service, at reception, in the dining room and housekeeping. Having had a hotel ourselves, we were very impressed and would come again, as we would like to take advantage of all the facilities and surrounding attractions.

Felt understaffed and tiredPosted Feb 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Although convenient for our meeting this hotel has definitely seen better days. The rooms are ok - a little shabby and only have single glazed windows. The staff member (waitress) in the restaurant was also the bar person. I would certainly think twice about staying here again.

Very nice weekend breakPosted Oct 17, 2012 on Hotels.com
Had a lovely stay, only problems where you couldn't turn the radiator off in the room and it got a bit hot, Room was a bit quirky, as you went up a few stairs to the bathroom. Comfortable bed, flat screen tv on the wall, enough wardrobe and draw space. Breakfast was nice but wasn't replenished very quickly, service could have been better. Would definately stay again
