Great independent hotel
Lovely hotel, fantastic location. Wonderful staff who were very helpful with additional requests. Great breakfast. V comfortable bed and nice room. Convenient parking - free out front and car park mins away if full.

Easy access to township
Position was fantastic. You could leave your car and walk everywhere. Beds were comfortable and staff members were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Breakfast superb with alternative milks and gluten free available. Character building meant going up stairs and the room at the top was rather warm. There was a fan in the wardrobe we found at the last minute. Quiet area with lovely outlook. Beautiful hanging baskets at the front.

A central, easy to get to hotel. Facilities good but parking can be difficult when there are a lot of guests (but there is a public car park very nearby). Very Pet friendly (although some of the other guests clearly weren’t). Overall, enjoyable.

Very good ood stay
First thing to say is that breakfast is fabulous! Location is great and very easy to walk around town from the hotel. Car parking is a bit limited but every well managed. Everyone we met was really nice and extremely polite. Rooms were good, bathrooms a bit small I guess.

Reasonably priced and clear instructions from helpful staff. No fuss check in and check out. Really convenient for the town centre and close to very pleasant riverside walks and othe amenities. Despite the room being too warm overnight we had a very pleasant stay.

The hotel was very central so walkable to most tourists places, plenty of pubs and restaurants in the local area. The room was clean and in good condition. A good choice of hot and cold breakfast, cooked freshly.

It was a lovely property. A bit noisy at times between the bedroom spaces , with rooms not being very noise reductive, however this can only be expected in older properties pre- insulation techniques and in a town centre. The breakfast was lovely in a really comfortable room. Can not fault the staff and the rooms were extremely clean and the beds were comfy.

Good hotel close to all amenities
I stay here on a fairly regular basis when working in Shrewsbury as it's close to the office I'm visiting. The hotel is always clean and comfortable, the breakfasts are very good, and you're close to the town centre with access to a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. It's also roughly a 15 minute walk from the railway station and bus station.

Second time here and I was looking forward to the breakfast - and I was not disappointed! Excellent quality, lots of choices and very well cooked; the perfect start to a day. The location is perfect and, while nothing here is fancy, everything is just right. The staff are welcoming and I would highly recommend this hotel - I'm looking forward to my next visit...

Brilliant stay
Very friendly on arrival with parking just outside door.Everywhere was clean and looked freshly painted.Room was of adequate size and bed was comfortable.Good choice at breakfast,again,staff very pleasant. Situated near river and close to all amenities.It was perfect for us.Had small bar ( on request) and warm ,cosy communal lounge/reception.

Can’t fault the location- perfect to make the most of the best bits of Shrewsbury. Staff very friendly & helpful. Room a little dated, bed not brilliant and the pillows poor, but the shower is good. We much enjoyed visiting Shrewsbury and Abbitsmead was perfectly placed for us
