“Cambodia”
The Royal Angkor Resort provided excellent service, and the staff were very professional and courteous. I would stay there again.
“Amazing staff and great resort with perfect location for sights, airport and town”
We stayed in a bungalow with 2 bedrooms which was perfect for our family. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly, and helpful. One could tell they all enjoyed working there and making the guests comfortable. The pool is wonderful--perfect way to relax after a day of sight seeing. The tours arranged from the hotel were fabulous, too. The hotel is just a quick tuk tuk ride away from the center of town, the sights of Angkor wat and the airport. Our bungalow was very comfortable and quiet with a lot of space. We definitely would recommend this hotel to families, couples, or groups.
“First time in Cambodia”
Overall this was a lovely hotel. The room itself wouldn't be considered 5 star in the states, but it was still quite nice. The attentive service from the hard working staff was very nice. It was our first time in Cambodia and we were very pleased with our accomodation. Tuk tuks to get you into town are inexpensive and plentiful. If you get a taxi at the airport, you can often luck out and have a driver who is willing to pick you up daily and drive you everywhere. We had one, named Mr. Broos who was always ready, punctual, gave us ideas of where to go, had cold water always ready, just a great guy!
“Outstanding hotel”
Pleasant staff from checking in, restaurant and checking out. Cleanliness all over the place.
“Nice place but a few small problems”
The hotel is beautiful, the location is a little bit outside the city but the area is so small that hardly matters. The room had an amazing tub with jacuzzi jets and a nice balcony and the pool was gorgeous. But food was a bit expensive by Cambodian standards and the spa was ridiculous for what you get. Also, the hotel driver didn't show up at the airport as promised and they tried to charge me for the trip back to the airport on my way home. Apparently it's only free one way which is weird. But it is a very pretty place so overall I was happy.
“Siem Reap Comfort”
The hotel was clean and attractive, although it appeared to be getting a bit dated around the edges. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, we had a nice deck overlooking the courtyard and pool and the staff were all friendly and helpful. It had a wonderful breakfast buffet and although not in the center of the city, as advertised, it was a short taxi ride to most of the sites.
“Royal Angkor Resort and Spa”
The Royal Angkor facilties and grounds are very well maintained, though not completely "up to date" versus other global 4/5 star resort hotels. Quality of food is excellent and the staff at all levels is superbly trained, friendly and attentive.
“Nice hotel close to airport!”
We stayed here 1 night and arrived at BKK airport at approximately midnight. We easily found the free transport to the hotel from the airport after leaving immigration. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft. We heard some room noise from the room next door to us when a child started to cry as we were unpacking in our room. We got a good rate for this hotel on expedia, otherwise it is kind of expensive.
“Enjoy Cambodia, Stay Somewhere Else”
We stayed at the Royal Angkor Resort & Spa for 7 nights, including X-mas Eve. We are seasoned travellers and this was our 2nd time in Siem Reap. Unfortunately we booked our stay at the RAR based on many favorable reviews, which I now disagree with. There were several incidents which lower my rating. For starters, the English comprehension of the staff was perhaps the worst I have experienced anywhere in the world. I know you're thinking this seems like no big deal. But the staff's lack of (basic) understanding made several otherwise easy requests and questions way more complicated, for example ordering room service,m booking tours, scheduling seats on the shuttle, etc. BTW due to the hotel's location on "Airport Road" it's not really within walking distance to much/anything so plan on spending approx. $3/ride in a tuk-tuk to get yourself around. They attempted to raise the price of an already highly inflated tour booked through the hotel. The breakfast buffet mostly features Asian foods and the X-mas Eve "gala dinner" we were required to attend at $55 per plate was probably the biggest disappointment of the entire trip. Everybody at the hotel was very friendly but that seems to be the case with everybody in Cambodia. There are better places to stay in Siem Reap for about the same price. The room was noisy. The bed was uncomfortable (not memory foam.) Old full-screen TVs, not LCD. Could smell hallway cig smoke.
