“Great Location, Friendly Staff”
The Soria Moria Boutique hotel is conveniently located a few blocks from the downtown area. It's on the other side of the river away from the crowded area, so it is a lot quieter. Walk 2 blocks and cross the bridge and you are within one block of the business area near the old market. The staff is very friendly and give immediate attention to any concerns you may have. We complained that our a/c wasn't cold enough and they fixed it to our satisfaction the same day. The rooms are spacious and contain many amenities such as a hair dryer, coffee maker, and DVD player. On an adjacent street, you will find the Butterfly Garden Restaurant with good food and many butterflies that are enclosed under a netting in the outdoor setting. Tuesday nights they have a free Apsara dance performance. I would definitely stay at the Soria Moria again!
“Outstanding Choice”
Owned and operated by a Norweigen brother and sister this hotel was one of the highlites of my stay in Cambodia. The rooms were good sized and well furnished with a spotless bath and AC. Meals could be taken either in the first floor diningroom or the roof top lounge(same menu options). I prefered the roof top - a wonderful place to unwind and watch the sun drop. What really set this property apart was the staff. It is clear that the owners treat their employees well. They are recognised as part of a team and that is reflected in the care that is shown to the guests. This is only possible because the hotel is of a modest size - I'm guessing about 40 rooms. Unless one prefers the glitz and glamor that comes with a larger property, I am sure that virtually everyone would find this hotel to be a 'gem'. A quality place at a very modest price.
“I highly recommend this hotel, I would definitely chose this hotel again.”
Hotel is owned and operated by a young lady from Europe. She has a top notch staff and is there everyday to make sure everything is well taken care of. Due to the cheap price of this hotel, I was not expecting too much, but it was much better than many of the 4 star expensive hotels that I had been using. Plus you get a free breakfast, free 24 hour internet and it is only 2 block walk to the business district and bar street. There is an onsite massage studio, plus massage parlors just across the street.
“A hotel that makes your heart feel good”
My mom and I stayed at this hotel and were extremely happy and would return again in a heartbeat. This is a hotel which recognizes it is operating in a desperately poor country and actively works to improve the lives of their employees and their community! Highlights: The performance by the Sangkuem orphanage in the dining room, the super-friendly staff always willing to help, the delicious $2 vegetable curry, the super cheap massages you can get in your room, and watching the sunset from their rooftop bar. Location: It is an enjoyable 5-7 minute walk to the heart of Siem Reap and to our favorite Blue Pumpkin cafe. Walk along the river and enjoy the cool breeze, or just take a tuk-tuk for $1.50-2. I can't recommend this place enough!
“A joy in Seim Reap”
The hotel itself was quite nice, but what made the hotel was its excellent, attentive and friendly staff. They made us feel quite at home and hard to leave!
“Very Nice Hotel for the Price.”
As our first leg of a 3 week vacation, my wife and I spent 4 nights in the hotel. The hotel was just as detailed with clean rooms and an amazing staff. It was clearly a good value and the people made it even better. If you are looking for a clean, nice, hotel with local charm then this hotel is for you. We would go back in a heartbeat.
“Great staff in great location”
This hotel is a gem in Siem Reap. It has modern conveniences and is located a few blocks from the center of town (many of the new hotels are out on the road from the airport). The staff is excellent and the hotel believes in building up skills in Cambodians. The beds are a little hard, but that is typical in Asia. We will stay there again.
“A Great Deal for the Price”
The hotel was clean, had cable TV in the room and internet connections in the room (220volt) as well as a computer in the lobby that was basically free. The free breakfst was also acceptable, given the cost of th room (very reasonable). The staff were extremely nice and helpful.
“Great place, location and value”
This is a great modern hotel, nice and clean with very friendly staff. It is a short walk to the market and pub street so you can easily go shopping or dining. The only two things which could be better are: - no in room safe, you have to use a locker downstairs if you want to lock up anything - the room is a little bit noisy
“excellent value for money”
The hotel was conveniently located and very comfortable and well-maintained for the price.
