Location, location, location - excellentPosted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: The hilltop location is lovely. It's quiet and grand without pretense.
Cons: The walls between rooms are very thin. I could hear every word said. At a certain hour, I called the desk to ask for lowering of the TV volume.
Location: It's very close to the Monteriggioni castle, and a short beautiful drive to Siena. There are countless backroads to explore by bike or car.
The old castle is inviting despite its hard surfaces. The rooms are spacious and uncluttered, the beds excellent, and the views uplifting. It was a perfect base for a few days of exploring Siena and the surrounding countryside.

Double booked & shoddy servicePosted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Overall, the building and the surroundings are lovely; the staff are incredibly friendly.
Cons: It's run like a family home where guests pop in to stay so don't expect efficient service.
Location: Close to Siena. Choice of good restaurants in Monteriggioni.
We arrived on Saturday evening to be told that there had been a double booking and they blamed Expedia. The receptionist told us that she'd tried to call my mobile but had been unable to get through (however I'd had no missed calls or Voicemail messages). Given that we booked in late July and arrived in mid-September, it is inconceivable that this couldn't have been spotted weeks before and resolved. As it was, she'd waited until we arrived to try to find an alternative for the first couple of nights which turned out to be a self-catering apartment at the end of a roller-coaster track into the wilderness; not the four star hotel we'd booked. After two days we were accommodated back in the hotel and were promised that they'd make it up to us (however we saw no evidence of that). Our room was in the roof and although the receptionist did promise to get our bags placed in the room she admitted that she'd forgotten. Although there was a lift to the first floor, the access to our room was up a further narrow staircase. She was unable to lift the cases herself and there were no other staff that could help it would seem so I had to lug them up myself.

Went there with my family had a lovely time. Beautiful hotel and lots to do in the area but a car is a must. Staff were helpful & friendly. Pool was amazing but cold. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: Great views. Pool. Restaurant five mins walk away. Quiet. Secluded.
Good. Was a wedding reception one night that also meant local restaurant closed and some noise till 11pm, but hotel arranged change of room for night, booked another good local restaurant and arranged taxi

Tuscany DreamPosted Jun 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
This place was beyond beautiful. The grounds are filled with roses and other flowers that make strolling around the hotel a very fragrant experience. We were able to enjoy their wonderful pool with a view. Our room was wonderful and had an amazing view of the sunset over the rolling hills of Tuscany. The only down side is that the breakfast was an additional 10 euros (we didn't know) just keep that in mind!

Beautiful Castel Bigozzi!Posted Jun 6, 2014
Location: If you're staying here, Monteriggioni and San Gimigano are must visits!
We stayed at Castel Bigozzi for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! Our room was rustic and full of character yet clean and comfortable with stunning views from our balcony. The grounds and pool area were beautiful and well maintained and it's such a peaceful spot for a rural getaway.

Lovely hotel Central to attractionsPosted Jun 2, 2014
Bigozzi is a beautiful hotel off the beaten track. It may be in the small town of Strove but it's very central to seeing plenty of other places without staying in the hustle and bustle of big places. Pisa, Florence and Siena are all within travelling distance and are definitely worth seeing.

Country RetreatPosted May 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
IT was hard to find at first but is really a very nice location. We used it as a central location to visit Siena, Voltara and San Giman--- . Great service and quiet near a small village with a coop close for some small items to chew on. loved it
