Three unforgettable nights at Castello di VelonaPosted Oct 15, 2013
Everything was amazing, from the service, to the quality of the facilities, the food and the spa which we used very day to unwind from our visits around the valley. Hopefully will return some day!!

The Perfect Location in TuscanyPosted Oct 8, 2012
Pros: The indoor pool was connected to the two level outdoor pool - with views of Tuscany countryside.
Cons: Nothing - everything was perfect
Location: The hotel is a little hard to find - but well worth it. GPS the nearby town and following the signs.
The castle was outstanding - gorgeous views of Tuscany, awesome pool and the staff was exceptional. This hotel is in a perfect setting, beautiful property and the staff was professional, friendly and very customer oriented. The Perfect Tuscany visit.

Would definitely returnPosted Aug 22, 2007
Great hotel, excellent staff - very friendly and accomodating. Gorgeous grounds and views. Only down side was that our room was not available when we arrived but we stayed at another nice hotel and our room was upgraded free of cost when we returned the next day. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay in Tuscany. It was a great honeymoon spot!

Perfection!!Posted Apr 5, 2006
I can't imagine a more perfect place to stay in Montalcino. The hotel is beautiful, staff was very friendly and helpful and the views were to die for. We can't wait to go back!

Amazing base to explore TuscanyPosted Oct 27, 2005
This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed one night in the town of Montalcino at a bed and breakfast and one night just outside of town, in the Castello. We wish we would have spent both nights at the Castello. We stayed in a deluxe room with a queen bed, but there was no need to upgrade. The room (and bathroom) were amazing, as was the view from our window. Parking was free, of course, given its location. Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and many other hilltop towns are within easy driving distance. I also recommend the restaurant, although expensive, it was well worth it. Also note that an American buffet breakfast is included. It was the best breakfast we had during our entire stay in Italy. A very peaceful place. If we return to Tuscany, we will be staying here.

Youare payig for the viewsPosted Oct 8, 2005
Just accept that you are paying for the views, which is fabu! Few places like it in Tuscany. The heated pool - not so heated. The restuarant - the only place we went in Italy where they did not decant the 95 Brunello - no table had their wine being decanted. The restaurnat food was okay - nothing special. Room Service: Says they were open till 10 pm, only when they felt like it. Three items on the menu (you can get them to put ham and cheese on the mixed salad) later if you press for it. Has wireless - pay $25 a day for it put if you need it....
