Lovely hotel in the centre of Siena.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Tony not only recommended restaurants he explained what was best about the service at each location and made us a reservation at a restaurant which proved to be excellent. We only stayed the night, but I would recommend this gem to anyone staying in Siena.

Good Value

This cute hotel was one of the best values I found in Italy. My room had an amazing view-I asked for one. It was clean, the water was hot, and spacious enough. The walls were a bit thin and I got to hear one neighbor's TV. Antonio was the best! He was helpful, courteous, and listened. The location was perfect and the street noise could not be heard.

Siena stopover

The Hotel Duomo is fine if u want a clean hotel close to most of the attractions. If you are looking for something with character this is not for you. We had to upgrade our room as the first was a dark shoebox. Window opened onto brick wall. Second room had pleasant out look but an extra 30 euros per night. Room decor is old and worn. Beds are hard and blankets limited. Fine in summer but not Autumn to winter. They only give u soap no other toiletries, however bathroom is quite nice. Breakfast was ok- simple continental no frills but tasty. Good selection if pastries, juice, toast and coffee. Staff are always buisy on phone or out the front smoking. When they do help its worthwhile. The stay way fine- more to do with being out and about in Siena. If all you need is a bed and shower and you are not looking for a hotel with bells and whistles this hotel is fine.

My daughter and I had a very pleasant experience. Hotel staff was very helpful and kind. Our room was small but very comfortable and cosy with a lovely view. We wish we could have stayed longer so will have to return another time.

Excellent location and very helpful staff. Remember to check with them before you arrive if you have a car. They have some cheaper parking nearby.

Outstanding Staff

Posted Jul 16, 2013
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: nothing
Location: Great restaurants. The Taverna Di San Giuseppe is fabulous.
The staff at the hotel Duomo is outstanding. Very knowledgeable about the restaurants in the area, very helpful with every detail. Svetlana is so helpful. I was very stressed when I arrived since I took a wrong turn and had to drive through the town filled with tourists. Svetlana was very helpful with directions and when I arrived she immediately took over the car and parked it. I was so grateful!! The room was great and very clean. I definitely come back.

Great hotel in Siena

Posted Jun 2, 2013
Pros: The location was subperb and opening your window to see the Duomo in incomparable.
Cons: Nothing significant
Location: Perfect location - close to all of the major sights.
Great hotel in the heart of Siena! The location, staff and room could not be better. Opened our window to a spectular view of the Duomo. The staff was very helpful in assisting with questions. Very easy to walk around all of Siena - not too far from the main bus depot for day trips. This could not have worked out any better.

Fantastic Stay--excellent location!

We loved our stay at this hotel. We booked it last minute and were very surprised. The location is just a few minutes from all of the major sites including the Duomo, the Palio, shopping, etc. Sergio was the best front office staff person we ever encountered and was personable, professional, witty, accommodating, etc. Sergio helped us with some restaurant recommendations/reservations, looked up train schedules, shared some great stories i.e. regarding the various contradas in the area, asked the breakfast crew to make some eggs for my husband, and even delivered our luggage to our room as it was not ready when we arrived a little early. He should be used as the model for customer service excellence.
