Incredible value and location.Posted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best we experienced, lots of fresh items, unlimited great coffee.
Location: Bus stop is at the end of the hotel driveway, with tickets available at the hotel's front desk. Just a few minutes down to the gate of the old city.
My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in mid-September and truly enjoyed ourselves. It was tricky to find but once we arrived, we were treated very well by efficient and friendly staff. The views of the old city from the expansive deck were great, especially after dark. The dinner menu was a little limited but well prepared (reserve early in the day during the high season). The pool area was still open, but the pools were a little chilly for our tastes. Several people we met took tours arranged by the front desk and had a great time, as Sienna is centrally located to many interesting towns and sites. Unlike several other hotels we stayed at, the included breakfast was very good, with the option of eating out on the scenic patio. Judging by number of repeat guests we encountered, from all over Europe, this place has been consistently good over the years.

Cons: Rooms a little hot and stuffy
Very happy with this hotel - great deal and value for money on a three night stay

Great hotel and staffPosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: The customer service, larger than normal hotel room bathrooms, the bar patios is second to none for size, service and views.
Cons: Wider range of dinner menu.
Location: Located in Siena, but yet a 40 minute walk from the city center. We we able to get to all of the surrounding hill top towns within an hour or so drive
We stayed at the hotel for eight consecutive nights in mid-October. The Hotel staff was exceptionally customer service oriented and went out of their way to help or provide service in every way possible. The room was smaller than it appeared in the website pictures (we booked a superior double room), but the larger bathroom and shower area made up for any shortcomings in the bedroom size. We loved the exceptionally large bar patio and spent time there every evening. The bartender (Atla) was great and if you wanted something not offered on their menu, he would try and find a way to make it for us. The hotel dinner restaurant had excellent service, but only average food. The breakfast buffet was larger than any other we have seen in Europe and had a fairly nice selection. The hotel is a 40 minute walk into the center of Siena, or a ten Euro cab ride back and is nicely located on the edge of town for escaping out to the other surrounding hill top towns.

Walking distance to Siena old cityPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: Fairly convenient location for exploring the area. 20th anniversary Mercedes C190 rally base made for some interesting guests/autos.
Cons: Parking is spacious but can be a challenge when group events are hosted. The hotel doesn't distinguish parking for overnight hotel guests and others.
Location: Tuscany's hill towns each have their own personality. Enjoy each with a glass of local wine.
Easy to reach from autostrade coming from Florence or Rome. Good base for Tuscany exploration by car, north to Sam Gimignano, south to Montalcino/Montipulciano, one hour or so from Florence through Chianti region. Free parking on hotel grounds which are very nice. Room was small but adequate. Noise from nearby rooms. Breakfast buffet was very good. Extensive hors d'oeuvres in the bar during the evening - you could probably make a meal of meats, olives, etc. for free. Walk to old city through university district on main thoroughfare is safe, about 30 mins. to north gate even though reception will tell you it's shorter. Plenty of pizzarias on the way. Old city has plenty to offer: shops, restaurants, history, culture.

Lovely, relaxing hotelPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: The grounds and the general comfort.
Location: A nice walk into Siena, though there were alternatives for those who prefer not to walk. And Siena is a joy to visit.
Such a lovely setting! Our room in the annex was very comfortable. The staff was helpful. Hadn't planned to spend time in the garden, but it attracted us. The bar was a nice touch.

Great hotel if you don't stay in the room we had!Posted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Sorroundings Car park Dinner
Cons: Walls, walls, walls! and normal windows!
Location: Ristorante pizzeria il jolly. (Great bore dish. Don't order fish, it's very small.)
I think the review below "Posted21 September 2013" had the room next to us! Our room was what seems like one large room refurbed into 2, and had a paper thin wall, with weird half a window x2. (We could honestly easily have conversation with next door without trying through this wall, and I certainly heard them making phone calls, peeing, showering and blow-drying hair. On our first night the neighbours were SO quiet and we didn't realize that they could hear everything so we carried on normal (watching telly, chatting etc.) and we were simply terrified (and embarrassed) how much we could hear next night from them!) Free wifi was promised when booking was made but it was not free when we checked in, but after my questioning I was given some allowance. Other than that we LOVED our stay in the place (honest! we just avoided spending any time in the room!); - friendly and professional reception staff, - decent breakfast, - knowledgeable and charming restaurant staff when we dined there, and food and wines were great and reasonable, desert was simply to die for, - nice garden to walk about, - plenty of car parking space. I would definitely go back ONLY if we get to stay with normal room with thicker walls.

Lovely hotel just outside of old townPosted Oct 9, 2013
Enjoyed the beautiful location and setting. Great as we were in Siena just for 2 nights. May be a bit off the beaten track if you want close to Il Campo. I'd come back here !

Good PlacePosted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: Exteriors, gardens, pool and view. Food also good.
Cons: Could have a shuttle to the city center.
Good food, far away from the main attractions. Hotel exteriors are beautiful, nice gardens.

Serenity in a CityPosted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: Location and value. The breakfast buffet was excellent with every kind of choice imaginable in a lovely setting with attentive staff.
Cons: Decaf coffee would be nice. Parking, with two luncheon meetings, was extremely difficult. Function planners could suggest car pooling where possible.
Location: Two buses are very close - one at the end of the driveway (#6) and one about 3 blocks away (#10) at a cost of 1 Euro 20.
We were more than delighted to discover this amazing property in the middle of a city - truly a find. This huge property with it's walkways, pools, greenery and flowers was the perfect antidote to a day on the A-1 autostrada and the crowds pulsing through Siena and San Gimignano. Our patio was a great place for fresh air and privacy, the pool great for a swim after a busy day and a comfy spot to lounge and relax.

Would stay again.Posted Sep 25, 2013
Arrived late afternoon and was pleased with extensive grounds and pool that was heated. Not a common factor with pools in Italy. Staff very accommodating when asked to see a room in main building when told our room was in another building. We ended up staying in Room 164 which was not in main building but great access out back of building to swimming pool and main building. Clean, bright and good bed. Breakfast was one of the best in all the places we stayed. We had dinner one night at hotel and would recommend it to others. Alta, the bartender was great and nice snacks while having cocktails in bar. Chianti wine tour that hotel recommended half day was awesome . Fernando was our guide and did a great job. Loved the two days in Siena.
