Fantastic courtyard view of Val d'orciaPosted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
I tremendously enjoyed my stay at the Il Chiostro. Gian Luca at hotel reception when out of his way to assist us. His mother works the breadfast and both treat the customers as if the hotel was there own. Customer comes first for these two individuals. The hotel is in Pienza and their terrace overlooks the Val d'orcia which is an amazing view. One problem is finding the hotel, there are no signs as you approach Pienza. Only by the kindness of locals was I directed to the entrance. Even when I recognized the location from my internet research I was unable to see the entrance to the cloister to the right of me because it is tucked away. The room was giving us the old world feel but the cleaning lady did not sweep or wash the floor. Gian Luca and his mom made the difference.

Nice hotel in a beautifull townPosted Aug 4, 2013
Pros: very calm and nice. good rooms. nice food.
Cons: someone to help you with your luggage
Location: Italy Tuscany is full of beautiful towns all very calm and very nice to visit and stay for 1 or 2 nights...
It’s a very calm hotel, with good Service and good rooms. It has a small Swimming pool and good Service. Pienza is a nice town with nice restaurants and fun to visit. Only Con was the parking, you need to park outside the city and walk with your luggage. It’s difficult to find a parking space, but once you made it its really worth it.

Could be so much betterPosted Jul 24, 2013
Pros: Location and view
Cons: Lack of general upkeep & presentation
Location: Centre of the town/village with good views from front over the surrounding countryside
Hotel location very good but character of the building & grounds very tired and lacking charm & presentation. No defined outdoor terrace seating area other than restaurant which appears to be run by a separate operator than hotel. Need for a guest outdoor relaxation & drinks only area for those pleasant evening stunning views.

Had a wonderful time. The staff was always on hand for any questions and always friendly. Breakfast was wonderful and the view was breathtaking. Room was clean and comfortable. They recommended great restaurants in the area. Beautiful, quaint and quiet city to relax in.

This is the hotel you want to stay in ItalyPosted Jul 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The location is in a small beautiful town and it is very pleasant to walk around the town after dinner. We have enjoyed the typical Italy farm field a lot. We will stay in this hotel again next time.

Decent hotel - fabulous views - great restaurant!Posted Jul 3, 2013
Pros: It is right in the midst of a very quaint village with fabulous views. Exploring the village was great fun. The restaurant and it's staff are great!
Cons: New mattresses would go a long way to improving comfort level. A comfortable chair and lamp for reading would be appreciated.
Location: This was our second visit to this hotel. Biking, hiking and poking around were our activities of choice. Fun to people watch in the square.
We enjoy the quiet respite after Rome or Florence - a vacation from the touring. A place to just be, read, walk, contemplate and eat!

Nice garden with great viewsPosted May 10, 2013
Pros: The town the views and the restaurants
Cons: Uncomfortable Bed and the way the restaurant treated us.
Location: Beautiful one of the best in Tuscany a lovely town.
I travel most weeks, and I think this Hotel star rating is a little over rated, it was in an excellent location and the reception staff were good. Parking is a major issue you are not able to park or drive close to the Hotel, getting luggage to a hill top Hotel was a challenge. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The toilet seat in the bathroom was broken, and even although it was fixed it still was the wrong design and a problem. The restaurant manger was rude on our first visit telling us we had not booked although we had, his customer service made us go elsewhere that night and we never returned to the Hotel restaurant. Their was plenty of other good restaurants in the town to use. The garden was nice with great views, the pool had not been touched and was over grown which was a shame. Breakfast was good with lovely service, would possibly stay again if passing through if I could try the bed first.

Great location!Posted Apr 13, 2013
The hotel was great. We stayed here two years earlier while on Spring Break. The hotel was a little pricier this time around but you pay for the location which is situated in the middle of charming little Pienza.
