Nice hotel but no parking

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Breakfast and room
Cons: Parking
Location: 500 meters from historic center
I expected more of this hotel because it was NH. The staff was not friendly and the parking was a problem. But overall was fine, 500 meters from the historic center.

Modern hotel very close to historic district.

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Great location, easy walking distance to most tourist sights. And the staff was wonderful, most spoke enough English to be very helpful.
This is a great hotel with a very modern feel. Our room was large in comparison to many European hotel rooms, and the bath was huge. Free wi-fi in the room with easy access. Quiet an peaceful, with a great view of the stadium.

Good Location

Posted Jul 11, 2014
This hotel is close to the Rialto Bridge and therefore easily accessible to the vaporetto (water bus) stop so it is in a good location in central Venice. Unfortunately, upon our arrival there was no one at the front desk; in fact we had to wait for about 10 minutes before anyone showed up! The fireplace in our room is in serious need of repair, but other than that the room was in good shape. Bed was comfortable. All in all it was a very good experience.

Right next to the bus station which means no taxis or taking baggage for long walk required.

Nice hotel

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: Nice clean room.
Cons: Hotel should provide some assistance in parking, Guests were instructed to park a couple of blocks away without assistance for luggage.
Location: The centre of attractions are about 15 to 20 minutes away by walking.
Most staff were helpful and friendly. Some help for valet parking would be helpful.

Nice hotel next to bus station

Posted May 24, 2014
I enjoyed my stay at the NH Excelsior in Siena. The location was terrific since I came in on the bus, and Piazza Gramsci (where most buses stop) is directly in front of the hotel. The Campo is a five-minute walk; the Duomo another couple of minutes, so all the attractions are nearby. I had a room at the back, which I would recommend as I imagine there was considerable street noise at the front. My room looked out over the soccer stadium so I had the chance to watch a game one evening from my window. One caveat: there was an amusement park beyond the stadium, and the music and loudspeaker were quite audible every night (after midnight on Saturday). Otherwise, I was satisfied: the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, the facilities were clean. I would stay here again.

Really nice Hotel in a prime location

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: Clean, modern and good location
Cons: Toilets in the common area of the hotel were really bad in terms of the lighting It was almost pitch black and very difficult to locate a light switch
Location: Excellent location, good hub for travel facilities and within a few minutes of the tourist attractions
The hotel is in a very quiet spot but within easy reach of the bars, restaurants and culture. It was a really good base and a perfect retreat for a night cap

Siena Stay

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: The proximity to historic town center is across the street!
Cons: Very nice, nothing needs to be improved.
Location: Historic town center is across the street... start wandering the beautiful storefronts and you are at the campo.
Our family stopped off at Siena from Rome to Florence. Siena is beautiful and not the cityrush of Rome. Wonderful streets to wander, excellent food!

Great centrally located hotel

Posted Mar 29, 2014
Pros: See above. It is a very good choice for the mid-range tourist who wants good value and quality, plus a great location.
Cons: See in room safe comment above. Just a standard code entry safe would be fine instead of the credit card entry operation.
Location: Il Campo is a 4 - 10 minute walk away. Bus station is within spitting distance. Little stores for essentials are very close nearby.
This is a businessman's hotel but also great for tourists. The staff was professional, first rate, friendly, and provided wonderful assistance. The rooms are spotless. The location is perfect with the bus station 100 feet away. A quiet park is at the back side. The breakfasts were more than adequate and provided a wonderful array of choices. It is a ten minute walk to the Il Campo, all downhill. Taxi's are plentiful. It has big elevators. The only downside was the room safe which requires a single credit card operation. Not helpful if your room mate needs to use the safe when you are not there. I would choose this hotel again when I return to Siena for the quality, location, and functionality of this facility.
