great mountain b&bPosted Jul 21, 2013
Pros: friendly owner?/staff- made us feel special and welcome.
Cons: my daughter and i traveled together. would have been nice to have 2 separate beds.
Location: our stay was too short. shaver lake is pretty with its own little beach. needed more time to explore.
friendly staff, with surprise cheese platter and wine in the evening. breakfast was lovely especially sitting outside under the trees.

Shaver LakePosted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: great setting
BB was quite pleasant. Ponderosa room had significant road noise from the adjacent highway. Meals were great.

Pleasant stay off the beaten trackPosted Jul 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
We spent two nights at Elliott House while touring Yosemite and Sequoia National Park. We stayed in a room in the main house, which was reasonably comfortable and quiet. The owners are exceptional hosts - very welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were exceptionally good. Shaver Lake itself is quite remote and there aren't many amenities there - a restaurant meal is hard to find. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would likely stay there again.

Pros: Cozy, clean. quite and ethnic.
The hosts are very hospitable. The breakfast was great. This BnB is located very close to the Shaver Lake and is walkable to may restaurants.

One of the best B&Bs EVERPosted Jun 17, 2013
Cons: None that I can think of
Location: I ended up at Washer lake by mistake. But it ended up as a great experience.
The B&B is clean and comfortable beyond compare. It is a gem of a place. The owners are generous, helpful and great hosts. The food was tasty, fresh and well prepared. My stay at the Elliot House was one of the highlights of my trip.

Very nicePosted Jun 4, 2013
I got there after 6 pm. it was closed. They are not available late check in but they supported to put key front and kind memo. That was very nice room and breakfast.

Choose your room with care.Posted May 31, 2013
Pros: Tasty muffins and cookies.
Cons: Cramped, noisy room.
Location: Noisy main road but close to good restaurants and hike to the lake.
I think a different room would have made a world of difference. We unknowingly got the "bargain" room of the inn (it was the only one left). It was no bargain. One wall faced the busy main street, one wall faced the reception area and staircase and one wall shared the office/kitchen. Not a recipe for peace and quiet. The phone rang late at night and was easily heard in our room. One idiot forgot their key and rang the doorbell at 11:30 pm and someone else came downstairs at 4:30 am, waking us both times. The room was so small, there was literally no room to open and use the luggage rack provided. Hosts were pleasant, food was good. Bed was nice but the room was less than great. Don't stay in the Ponderosa suite but the other rooms sound nice.

Great for couplesPosted May 6, 2013
Pros: Location, food, welcoming hosts.
Really well looked after in this B&B with great, big breakfasts and tips on local sights/ visiting Yosemite which were greatly appreciated. The B&B is right in the heart of Shaver Lake, which isn't always what is indicated on GPS for some reason, so you can find the B&B and walk to restaurants/food outlets in the evening easily. The beach for the lake is a couple of minutes away, Yosemite park an hour and the Valley is 2 hours. We took a day to explore locally and relax having driven quite a way and were met with a lovely, comfortable room and welcoming hosts. The views on the way up to the Lake provide good shots for the camera as does the local scenery through SL. So much better than staying in one of the towns between Las Vegas and Yosemite. This place is great for seeing a slice of the US on the tourist trail that hasn't been destroyed by visitors and an excellent base for Yosemite.

excellent bed & breakfast at shaver lakePosted Apr 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Elliott House. We stayed in the Sequoia room, and it was very romantic, cozy room. We loved the gas log fire and jacuzzi tub. Location was great if you plan to spend time in the Shaver Lake area. Breakfast was excellent.
