No issues at all. Staff was nice and a good location. You can't lose being close to an In and Out Burger.

Predictable motel

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: comfortable and convenient location
Cons: Upon arrival the desk clerk seemed to resent that we had booked through Expedia/AARP and refused to consider either Marriott points or a room upgrade.
Location: Thousand Oaks isn't a major tourist attraction, but there is much within 30-45 min. Varied restaurants nearby.
No surprises at Marriott Courtyard in Thousand Oaks. Comfortable room. The "heated pool" wasn't heated!

Marriott

I would recommend this location to anyone who prefers to stay in a nicer hotel but not pay a fortune. The breakfast food can be improved, and the room amenities can be updated but it's still Marriott and it still has class.

Hotel conveniently located to hot spots

Posted Feb 15, 2015
Pros: Staff was really friendly. Nice lobby area where we gathered with friends. Bar was closed on the weekend, brought our own!
Location: Walking distance to Steakhouse, Chili's, Natural Café, Italian, Japanese, and a new beer tasting experience, Bottles & Tap! Close to hiking trails.
Air Conditioning was not blowing cold air. Called to front desk and problem was diagnosed and entire unit replaced in under 30 minutes. Had nice cold air! Close to many restaurants and shops. Close to freeway.

Great Area and Best Hotel for the $$$

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: Staff, Rates, Location
Location: Great Location, Emedded in parking lot that has +10 different food options within 3 minutes walking distance.
Have a client in the region and stay here occasionally. The higher end options in the area include a Four Season, a Hyatt Westlake Plaza and a Westlake Village Inn. I would say this place is the best for the $$$. a) Four Seasons is best quality, but double the price b) Hyatt Westlake Plaza, is a larger, perhaps more 'active' place with a lot going on. But the rooms are rather poor quality and if you shine a light up to the bed sheets you will see they are all brown (see for yourself). c) Westlake Village Inn, has probably the best grounds (golf course + weddings), but the rooms are older. There are of course other options that I've stayed at in the area, including the Residence Inn (Westlake) and some others further down into the Valley. Generally all area either as nice and more expensive, or not as nice and equally or more expensive. So by process of elimination I would say that this is hands down the best option for a business traveler, and a good option for a casual visit that isn't looking to spend to much.

Much better than agoura hills sheraton who overcharged and gave hard time changing rate. Thousand Oaks is more convenient to shopping etc.

Beware of "incidental" charges!

Posted Nov 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel, physically, was nice. It was clean, comfortable, etc. The front desk could have used more help, possibly. It took a long time to get checked in, even with only one person ahead of me. The problem came after I left. My bill was determined at the time I checked in, and my copy was slipped under the door that morning as usual. It read the agreed upon price. However, the next day, as I was doing some banking online, I noticed I had been charged almost $30 extra. When i called the hotel, they said it was common practice to charge an incidental fee, in case i had gotten something from their small in-house 24-hour store. This was not revealed at check-in, so I had to demand that I be refunded the difference from my agreed to price. To charge extra money and not make the patron aware is very unethical. So, be aware of hidden or "incidental" charges at this hotel. Sneaky!

Good but who positions a TV you can't see from bed

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Nice. Rooms are large. Yet, why put the TV so it can not be seen or used from the bed? Really?
