Perhaps more average than expectedPosted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: Quiet at night despite bustling location
Cons: Hot water + free wifi would be nice
Location: It is like Red Lights district in Amsterdam. Lots of action going on in the streets. Do some research on this area before booking.
Stayed there 3 nights. OK place if you need to crash somewhere cheap and do not mind super tiny rooms with barely enough clearance to fit a carry-on case between the side of the bed and a wall. No free WiFi, not even in the lobby. Fragrance Ruby (a few streets away) has it, but Pearl does not. Big downer for me was absence of hot water. No mater what we tried the water temperature was borderline warm/cool. So you can still take a shower but in the first minute it will feel a bit uncomfortable depending on your temperature tolerance. Our friend called it refreshing and did mind it. But it was a tad too cool for us. The shower stall had no curtain and was right next to the toilet. So when taking shower water gets splashed all over the bathroom. Reception service is fine but do not expect miracles from them in this old hotel. No issues with the noise during night despite the bustling location. Google this area before deciding, it is like red lights district in Amsterdam and you will see lots of action taking place on the streets.

Pearl in GeylangPosted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Spacious room. Pleasant staff.
Cons: Small frig in room and a safe.
As you may know it is the red light area in Singapore but no problems at all in the hotel. Lots of local food around. Shame no MRT but near bus-stops. No frig or safe in the room but good size for 1/ 2 adults. Very clean. Will stay again.

I'm OK for short stay here.Posted Oct 1, 2013
Pros: Very cheap hotel in Singapore. That's all.
Cons: Air conditioner is not so good condition and noisy. TV Channel is very few channels and not clear(analog tuner)
Location: Food court is available on 24h just walk a few second. you can eat nice Singapore local food around this area.
I'm recommended to this hotel for short stay/transit usage when you come to Singapore. Just only 45SGD per night. very cheap but not so clean. I'm OK for transit usage for 5 hours sleep. So many mainland China people are staying here for sightseeing.

nice hotel good locationPosted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: friendly and helpful staff
Cons: maintenance of airconditioner units. bug spray for cockrochers
Location: good location local shops from groceries to electrical goods food stalls to laundromat
pleasant to be able to go out all day as you are close to local shops and food stalls with a super market just down the road and 24 hour luandromart to wash and dry 10 minutes walk from the hotel and the MRT or city wide transport is only 15minutes walk from the hotel.

Promised so much but became an anti climaxPosted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: Good price, clean beds and bedding, not too far from the station for the price paid.
Cons: Better aircon, newer bathroom, Some form of FREE WiFi would be nice, even if in the reception area.
Location: Close to shops, taxi rank & 15/20 minute walk to station. Recommend the open top bus tours available in the city.
We only stayed for one night but if we were staying for longer we would have chosen a better hotel. The staff were neither good nor bad but just did their job. The location is not perfect but OK for a quick base in Singapore. We felt the rooms were very small and you could barely walk around the bed. WiFi is very expensive.

-You get what you pay. -Don't expect anything else. -Far from the city itself. -A lot of taxi drivers said its a prostitution area.. "Believe what you see"... OMG!!!

Location: anything and everything

Great place to stay in GeylangPosted Aug 21, 2013
Pros: Cheap + Clean = Win
Cons: Have the AC farther from the bed.
Location: Geylang district, restaurants everywhere. Walking distance to Kallang MRT.
Hotel is one of the cheapest in Singapore. But don't let that scare you. It's very clean and AC works well. Only gripe I had was the AC shoots directly onto the bed so you can get pretty cold and its a little annoying ;)
