Decent hotel, poor management.Posted Oct 9, 2014
Cons: Duty managers, some deserve to be fired as they do not understand basic customer and relationship management
Location: Clarke Quay for bars and restaurants, Chinatown for shopping
I booked a family room for one adult and two children aged 9 and 8. Arriving at the hotel on 2 Oct 14 evening, they told me at check in that the only room they had had one double bed. I explained that I had booked more than 3 weeks in advance so they should have reserved the right room for the number of people. After haggling, the 'manager' reluctantly agreed to add a folding bed. I then checked online, saw they had availability of twin rooms the next day and requested that they move us and the folding bed then so that we had three separate single beds (I have a son and a daughter). The manager then vindictively refused, efforts to explain that I was not requesting anything more than what I had booked and paid for fell on deaf ears. The attitude was just that he was in charge and he was not going to budge. So we had a crappy, cramped stay and I will not book the hotel nor recommend to family travellers. Meeting the same manager in a lift to the dining hall, me and my kids decided to eat away from the hotel, just in case he was responsible for food too! Nothing wrong with with hotel, everything worked, rooftop pool was great and the non-managerial staff were friendly and helpful.

Great hotel on the riverPosted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: Rooms are generous and light with a very good work space area. Bathroom is well fitted out with all necessary amenities.
Cons: The buffet breakfast spread has declined to a more modest level - probably ore in line with its competition however still good with enough choices.
Location: Robinson Quay, Clarke Quay, Singapore River - host to a whole range of fine dining experiences to suit all budgets and tastes.
As usual a very pleasant stay - the hotel is in an ideal position right on Robinson Quay with access to a plethora of excellent restaurants and only a short walk away from Clarke Quay and its MRT. Hotel is comfortable, service is excellent and it is good value for money.

Hotel next to riverPosted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: In Town and next to the river.
Cons: During raining, it's difficult to get a taxi. Have to go to next hotel to get tourist information.
Location: Walk by river bank is pleasant.

Quirky hotelPosted Jul 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel bathroom was a bit dark. Not sure why anyone would design a dark bathroom especially if you need to shave. The bathroom was all that clean either, there was mold around the shower edges. The location was far from the subway but it was close to the several bus stations. If I could do it again I would have booked another hotel closer to the MRT.

Good Hotel: Great valuePosted Jul 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very helpful staff - one crazy Rule; they will not send a fruit knife to your room in case you commit suicide (Bad history?) @@@ Easy ten minute walk across river to edge of Chinatown: Coffee Shops and Hawker stands. Convenience store Right; right; right - much cheaper than across the forecourt, Same place - a cafe geared to Parent and Child, but good for everybody - ask for May @@@ Clean, modern and great value if you pay £50 pn @@@

Nice hotel located on the upmarket area.Posted Jul 18, 2014
Nice hotel located on the upmarket area of Singapore. Situated on the Singapore River on Robertson Quay, close to Clarke Quay and not too far from Orchard Rd. Hotel staff were lovely, helpful and accommodating. Taxi services easy to get.
