Gracious historic hotel - a must stay recommendatiPosted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: Staff and facilities and location near the junction of Scott's Road and Orchard Road. This is a gracious hidden gem in Singapore.
Cons: Hotel is aging gracefully; could do with some cosmetic renovations, including carpeting and other flooring especially in rooms.
Location: Great location near the junction of Scott's and Orchard Roads. Close to Tangs and then Paragon Mall. Good access to MRT and taxis
Booking through Expedia matched by hotel facilities and service. Staff were excellent at all levels and very attentive to specific needs, including concern about stale odour in junior suite, which was not competely resolved but management attended to the issue promptly. Breakfast was comprehensive and fresh although arrangements for chef cooking omelettes and other egg presentations got in the way of access to other food on offer. If the restaurant was to be crowded there would be unhappiness. Other restaurants, Min Jiang and then Gordon Grill were very good. Pool and facilities were up to expectations.

Location: Very convenient location close to shops, restaurants and transport.
Beautiful stylish older hotel. Two lovely pools - both spotlessly clean. Service always excellent. They do a really good high tea.

Lovely hotelPosted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: The hotel has a lovely facade as it was built in the early 1900's. It has a colonial feel a bit like the Raffles. The room was very nice.
Cons: Although the service was good, it was a little slow at times.
Location: The hotel is on Scotts Road which is just around the corner from Orchard Road. Plenty of opportunities for shopping along Orchard Road.
I recently stayed at the Goodwood Park Hotel. The hotel is very close to Orchard Road which is very handy for visiting the numerous shopping centres. The hotel room was very nice and spacious with lots of lights which made a nice change from a dim and gloomy room. There was plenty of space for both my friend and I. The pools were lovely and the grounds well kept. Room service was good.

Traditional, historical hotel with style and charmPosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Try the afternoon tea. It is legendary in Singapore. It is not just sandwiches, scones and cakes. It includes hot food and desserts.
Cons: Breakfast- staff could be more proactive and use their initiative to replenish items, rather than need to be reminded by guests
Location: Close to Orchard Road interchange for retail therapy and restuarants- three minute walk
We stayed in a poolside suite, which was luxurious and included free breakfast room service. The hotel is an oasis of calm in a busy city. It is only two storeys high, great for vertigo sufferers. Oozes class from the moment you walk in.

Great 4-5 star hotel, great locationPosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Family friendly hotel, shallow end in main pool for babies. Great location to local food and shopping plus activities like zoo, Sentosa etc.
Cons: Hard to think of something...pillows were feather, so perhaps could be synthetic or memory foam instead to stop your head sinking through to no pillow
Location: Far East Plaza local food, minimart, Galleria DFS, short stroll to Orchard Rd for more shops and food. Great location for taxis across Singapore.
Really good location next to Far East Plaza food, 7-eleven, minimart at Scott's Plaza, shops and across the street another food mall and more shops Galleria DFS leading to Orchard Road. Easy to get a taxi from all locations. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
