smelly room; aircon noisy, smokey smellPosted Nov 24, 2013
Pros: okay for transit But not for holiday. Hotel staffs are nice !!
Cons: Please change aircon & put some air freshners. Time you step in the hotel you can pass out.
Location: Location is okay
check-in was fine even we given late check-out but room itself was very small & smelly so point staying for longer. Bathroom has no bath mat. Shower, basin & toilet was next to each other.

Hotel 81 Sakura, SingaporePosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Pros: Friendly staff, free wifi. Cons: Bad location (too far from airport to be convenient, too far from city centre to be interesting), poor quality shower (no hot water, no shower curtain and mine jetted in two different directions at once), room smelled of cigarettes. It wasn't cheap enough to make it worth it, I don't recommend it.

Perfect for transitPosted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Second time I've stayed here. Perfect for transit. Hotel is about 4 stops on the MRT.$2sing. Surrounding area has tons of food within walking distance. Place does a complete 360 at night. Karaoke bars line the streets at night. Some like this, some don't.. I was able to not let it bother me.. Hotel staff is great. Rooms are small, but I didn't spend much time in the room.. I will stay here again when I transit thru Singapore..

budgeted tiny room, good food & locationPosted Jul 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
room was extremely tiny. no wardrobe, just hanging hooks for clothes. there was not even a chair in the room, although there was a small dressing table. towels were slighted stained. but room was rather quiet considering it was ground floor. given the budgeted price, the facilities probably equate.

Good hotel for overnight airport stay.Posted May 20, 2013
Location: Close to airport.(around $20 Singapore) by taxi
As described, this is a three star hotel. I arrived at 9pm and was welcomed by the reception staff, and was quickly in my room. I had flown from Greenland with a brief overnight stop in Reykyavik,so was extremely tired. The bed was comfortable, and after a hot shower, had a good nights sleep. Breakfast not available, however there is a good Chinese breakfast restaurant close by,

Okay for transitPosted Apr 25, 2013
Location: It's around 11kms from Changi airport, so location it good.
You really get what you pay for with this hotel. I was in transit and needed a hotel close to the airport. It is reasonably close and good value for a brief stay.

Not for familiesPosted Apr 1, 2013
Pros: Prices for food and alcohol in the surrounding area are very reasonable and the food is great!
Cons: Lots of 'ladies' standing around on the street at night...
Location: A genuine Singapore experience but a bit seedy for families.
The rooms were basic but clean. Our rooms were on the ground floor at the front so there was a bit of street noise. My room was ok but my friends room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. I wouldn't recommend this area to families as there are a lot of bars and 'ladies' standing on the street. For travellers who want a genuine Singapore experience or are on a budget this place would be ok. There is lot of great food and the prices for food and alcohol were about half of what we were paying in the Downtown Core and Chinatown.
