Tristar - Shines our Stay

Posted Mar 10, 2015 on Hotels
My family enjoyed the stay especially my kids. The staffs were very helpfull and very attentived to our queries. Tristar I can consider a good family hotel where the location is very convenient. You have restaurant opened 24hrs offering varieties of food which include local, other asian and western dishes. A budget shopping center like Joo Chiat and KM One are close by and you have Geylang Serai just across the road. Geylang Serai itself have a lot of varieties of food stalls, fruit& Vegies market, shops selling a lot of kind of stuffs from health products, muslim wear, kids wear etc... Anyway, I wouldn't mind to come back to stay in Tristar in the future either I am alone or with my family. Looking foward to another stay in Tristar 81. Thank you to all the staff especially to the kind and hardworking housekeeping/room boy (which I didn't ask his name but he is from Johor) who have done a good cleaning job. Respect Brader!

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Cons:

Wish we had stayed longer and we will return

Posted Jan 13, 2015 on Hotels
The Tristar is an overall excellent value for an overpriced but otherwise enjoyable destination such as Singapore. Check the condition of your room's physical inventory before you accept it or stay very long because things such as lamps, controls and furniture may be broken or inoperable. The swimming pool is actually one very large kiddie pool because the depth is only a meter or less and large adults will invariably end up knuckle dragging on the bottom to swim. The rooms are very large so this is perfect for a family "staycation." Restaurants are abundant with wonderful ethnic food available right downstairs and well known hawker centers both across the road and a block away. Service is top notch and when we left some items behind when switching hotels to our previously booked Hotel 81 and they were all there when we called and went back to retrieve them and the clothes were neatly folded with everything secured and wrapped in plastic.

Mycket för pengarna

Posted Jan 11, 2015 on Hotels

Not fancy but fine for the price

Posted Jan 8, 2015 on Hotels
The room was large and quite comfortable. A food court below and large mkt across the street was very convenient. Internet connection was fine (I'm not streaming movies but for em and websites it was fine). The bathroom needs some sprucing up but otherwise, for the price, esp with a very nice pool it was perfectly fine. BTW I didn't see any Vietnamese hookers in the hotel. Finally, the staff won't win any awards for service but they handed me my key every day when I returned.

Good budget hotel

Posted Jan 3, 2015
We booked 2 deluxe rooms which were next to each other (requested prior to arriving). The rooms are very spacious. All appliances functioned well. However, the only thing I questioned was the cleanliness of the rooms. As I turned the cup over to make a cup of coffee, there were ants crawling around. We couldn't leave any food on the table as the ants were all over it. I'm not sure if this problem occurred only in our room? Also be aware there is no safe in the room to store your valuables. Apart from this, the hotel is good value for money and if you ever get hungry in the middle of the night there is a 24 hour food court on the ground floor.
