Unique Singaporean experiencePosted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: As above
Cons: Ensure bathrooms , shower floor are immaculately cleaned
Location: As above
Superbly positioned high in the park . Walking distance to all on offer in singapore or alternatively staff will arrange a taxi or guide you to to train station. We happily took the breakfast offer on booking in @$25 a head excellent value standard style buffet , excellent staff Denash and a young girl working to save to come to australia to study medicine provided exemplary table service of tea and coffee to your liking. However if the hotel aspires to attract high end travellers please provide linen services not paper, this is very minor but sets a standard. The pool area is delightful for afternoon relaxation amoungst the business of singapore. Check in was seamless as was any requests throughout our stay. Room service was standard and nicely served in bamboo tiffin boxes , for those nights that you just want to stay in. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend to friends. This was a boutique experience.

so quiet while in the heart of the cityPosted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: It is located in the heart of the city and feels more like being in a jungle bungalow. Great workout facilities and pool and a very helpful staff.
Cons: While they did much, including moving me to another room to help with the signal the WiFi strength in the hotel was problematic.
Location: A great location within walking distance from the night life of Clarke Quay and the shopping of Plaza Singapura.
Was a great stay. The staff helped me with connectivity issues and greeted me warmly everytime I passed through the lobby. It had a special renovated style with a great healthcub and pool. I must say it was a special time and while I speak to this as I would prefer the hotel be my "secret. I feal the lack of availability

Nice quiet hotelPosted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: Natural hill top setting
Cons: Controls for the blinds in the toilet should be moved into the toilet
Overall it was a nice quiet hotel. If you enjoy taking walks in a natural setting this hotel is perfect as it is part of the setting. Shopping is easy as Orchard Road is also within a short walking distance. The main setback is the balcony-converted toilet. By lowering the blinds it shuts off the view from the room and makes it rather claustrophobic. Also since the controls for the blinds are all located outside of the toilet, privacy can be easily compromised especially if you have small children.

Beautiful place to spend our anniversay.Posted Dec 29, 2014
Loads of changes since we held our wedding there. Was greeted with warm when checked in, with a hand written card. Beautiful room with smart use of balcony. Provided complimentary TWG tea and Nespresso coffee. Simple spread of evening drinks served for guests. Breathe in cool air from the pool as its surrounded by greens.

Charming experience overall.Posted Dec 11, 2014
Hotel Fort Canning shows both old world charm and modern convenience. The rooms are generous, and though the food is good in the Glass House restaurant, it tends to be underseasoned - surprising for Asian cuisine. A short jaunt to one end of Orchard Road, then a long stroll down the Road for unparalled shopping.

Beautiful Hotel in a Lovely SettingPosted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Friendly Staff, beautiful and peaceful surroundings but close to the City, not high rise . Excellent restaurant, Happy hour, fried Ikan Billis.
Cons: Wifi and the price of Alchohol (especially beer) in the restaurant
Location: Fort Canning Part is beautiful, historic and worth a good look around. The National Museum is also very close, beautiful and well worth a look.
The hotel was fabulous with very friendly and helpful staff. On the edge of Fort Canning Park it is close to Orchard Road, Clarke Quay, Raffles and the City Centre. The room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom was beautiful with an excellent view out across the City. I would agree with others that the Wifi was a bit flakey but it was good enough for our needs. The Glasshouse restaurant offered reasonably priced meals (main meals from around $14) but watch out for the ++ pricing which means that 10% Service Charge and 7% local tax are added - a common practice is Singapore. Beer was horribly expensive with a half of Tiger costing $15. That makes it around £15 per pint. I realise that Alchohol is expensive in Singapore but this was far an away the most expensive we found. Happy hour was great and it gave us a chance for a couple of freebies before our nights out. Some have said that breakfast was expensive at $40 and I would agree however if you book breakfast when you check in you can get it for $25++ which makes it quite good value especially as it is an all you can eat buffet with fruit, cereals, cooked options, pastries, toast, fruit juices and an endless supply of tea and coffee. As checkout is at 12:00 and our flight was not until 23:00 the hotel allowed us to leave our bags with them in a secure room. They also allowed us to use the pool in the afternoon which was very welcome. In all we loved our stay and will certainly stay there again.

A bit far from nearest station and not smart access by foot. But, easy to go anywhere by foot and use MRT. Hotel stafes are very kindness and good hospitality.

Quiet comfort in the heart of the cityPosted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: It is a historical building and it is a great renovation to a modern comfortable hotel.
I am a frequent visitor to Singapore. I had no idea Hotel Fort Canning existed until I ran across it this trip and my usual picks were all sold out. The hotel is near everything but quietly nestled in to Fort Canning Park. Quiet and comfortable. The staff was very attentive and willing to help throughout the entire hotel facility.
