Wonderful Hotel
Posted Jan 2, 2013
Pros: Quiet and peaceful, the fact that it is in a park yet within walking distance to Singapore river Orchard road and Raffles
Cons: The bath in the middle of the room, a bit tricky to get past sometimes
Location: The location in Fort Canning park is absolutely fantastic. The park is beautiful with a lot of history
A terrific hotel and as far as I am concerned it is one of the best positions in Singapore. This hotel is probably more suited to couples who enjoy peace and quiet but are still close enough to all Singapore attractions.

A Hidden Gem

Pros: Gorgeous bedroom, with incredible bathrooms and lovely use of light and space throughout the building.
Cons: 2-3 min walk through the park to the MTR (but Hotel can easily arrange a taxi for you)
Location: excellent location for Orchard Road.
I really enjoyed my three days at this hotel. The hotel is located in Fort Canning Park, just 3-5 minutes walk to Dobhy Ghaut MTR and Orchard Road shopping. Situated in one of Singapore prettiest colonial buildings it has been sympathetically restored into a hotel, with great use of light and space throughout. This is one of the few hotels i have used that works equally well for business or pleasure and would be an excellent choice if you were travelling on business with family, as it has something for everyone. The pool areas and restuarants are excellent and the gardens and general design impressive. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the free wifi in all rooms an added bonus.

Pleasant businessman's hotel

Reception was friendly and efficient. The room was fine. Took some playing around to get the blinds and the lights to work as required. Although very close to Dhoby Ghaut tube station, there are 133 steps to climb up on the way back! Overall pretty good.

The room was not very well kept / clean. The hair-dryer was missing from the drawer in the toilet and the drawer itself was dirty and dusty. The floor was also not very well cleaned. However, bed / pillows were very comfortable. The Italian restuarant Gattopardo has great, fresh seafood!

Quiet and freindly retreat in the city centre.

We likeded this hotel very much, small and quiet but full of charactor, the swimming pools were hardly used by anyone else will we were there they were crystal clear and had no chlorine (special micro filtering system apparantly). the location is good, you can cut though Park Mall shopping mall to get to Dhoby Ghaut underground station in about 5-10 minutes from the back of the hotel but it is on the side of Fort Canning park hill so there are quite a few steps to negotiate. If I was staying in Singapore city again for any reason I would use this hotel if I could afford to, I did get a very good deal from Hotels.com this time.

Seluded hotel around town

The hotel staff were mostly polite and helpful in getting us a taxi when we departed and the rooms were clean and fresh when we first stepped in so that was very impressive. But the only thing is the disappointing toiletries - they looked so plain and simple in such a lovely boutique hotel! Location is bit off too..

A quiet oasis in the middle of Singapore

Gorgeous hotel. Very modern and well-designed. Big rooms with very comfortable beds and particularly huge bathrooms, all of which have great windows overlooking the city or the park. There are definitely a few small signs of a lack of 100% perfect cleanliness around the room and hotel itself, but nothing that was particularly concerning (i.e., small stains on the wall or the window curtains in the bathroom). Hotel staff is very helpful, and the breakfast buffet was pretty good. Note that it's definitely a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, though I found that a good thing. And, it helps to be in decent shape if you want to walk to/from the hotel, as it's up a fairly significant hill/set of stairs. But that, again, was a welcome addition for me.

One of the best!

One of the best hotel I have ever stayed. All the staff were very friendly and willing to help. One and the only negative for the hotel is that the distance from the closest train station. It says the hotel is 5min walk from the closest train station. BUT, as the hotel is located on the top of the hill, you for sure will sweat and get tired by the time you arrive at the entrance of the hotel. I suggest that you take taxi to the hotel, especially when you carry luggage!

Secluded hotel in town

The rooms and hotel's overall lay-out and setting was of course very lean and well-maintained, the location of the hotel was great in a way that it made you feel like you were in a secluded resort away from the city while you're still not too far from it either! Don't know whether that's a good or bad thing..
