“Good hotel for your money....”

the building appearance is not so attractive nor the building decor.strangely, it is an ecclectic style but the rooms were clean and has the basic amenities of hairdryer, coffee with water boiler, slippers...it was a pleasant stay for an overnight! i was pleased!

“Good value for money - not a luxury hotel”

This is an updated hotel in an older building. As of this writing, if you look on Google Street View, you still see what the place used to look like; it must have been redone recently. It's a budget hotel; the bathrooms are not climate controlled and there's really nothing fancy about it. But it's clean and has character. I traveled by folding bicycle and for me, the hotel was well-located, but pedestrian travelers might find the subway stations just a little far in the Singaporean heat. There is a well-known food hawkers' place right across the street, open 24 hours, which is a real plus. There's a small supermarket a block away and a 7-11 across the street. I concluded that the flooring people are complaining about is original and was maintained to keep a sense of character to the place. I liked it. Rooms are typical for Asia -- small -- but I didn't find it ridiculous or problematic. My only beef was that when I checked in a little after midnight, they handed me a keycard to 312, which I walked into to discover it was occupied. Turns out they meant to put me in 213. They were very apologetic and I certainly didn't get the impression that that was a common occurrence, but I certainly made sure to keep my deadbolt on the door when I was in the room.

“Close to great food”

It was small--but we knew that from reading the reviews. Staff very nice and accomodating. Very enjoyable stay. Close to bus lines and MRT. Used the hotel for sleeping--and the size didn't matter.
