An excellent hotel exactly as described on the webPosted Dec 11, 2013
Pros: Size not too big ,area away from city centre but not too far, atmosphere great.
Met with a very friendly welcome by Perry, Checked in early with no problems , given a room upgrade. Staff at the hotel were all attentive and helpful answered all our queries regarding local area travel etc. Facilities and room could not be faulted and the in house dining was again faultless. We would certainly return to this hotel when we return to Singapore

My Home Away from HomePosted Oct 22, 2013
I am a woman who travels alone and the Nostalgia meets my needs perfectly when I am in Singapore. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is good! It is one bus stop away from the Metro Station and a short distance to the Botanical Gardens by taxi. Best to use a local phone card to note down taxi services as sometimes you can wait for some time. A new, French Bakery has just opened around the corner which is an added attraction.

Chic Boutique HotelPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: Staff, Location, really comfortable bed. Nice clean décor.
Cons: sound proofing for this particular rooms door and window. A safe that is bolted to something that cant be moved such as the floor/wall.
Location: Location great because it is walking distance to the main shopping areas/rail stations.
We had a down stairs room opposite the bar, this was a problem because our room door needs to be soundproofed to stop the noise that you can easily hear. Also the window needs soundproofing because it backs onto an alley which is used through the night. Also a safe that is actually bolted to something would be good. That said this is a beautifully presented hotel that was clean and a great location, with professionally minded staff who were most helpful and we would recommend it and visit again if we go to Singapore.

Happy HotelPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Always clean & tidy, most friendly & helpful staff, swimming pool, comfortable bed, good food.
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Very handy to local markets & local food, short bus/train or taxi rides to most places, Chinatown is not too far away.
Nostalgia was a very welcoming hotel, it had everything we needed for our stay, very friendly & helpful staff, good food, always clean & tidy, swimming pool, smallish room but good bathroom, good location, good air conditioning .It is hotel I would recommend & return to.

great small friendly hotel with a poolPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: the friendly staff and great pool area in the afternoon The room showers are tremendous!!
Cons: Room noise, there seems to be a ongoing intermittent noise throughout the night, possible refilling of cisterns? so take earplugs if that would annoy
Location: Close to two MRT's markets around corner with food court above and a post office 5 mins away there are loads of little cafes and eatery's around
the hotel staff are great, have suggestions on what to see and where to go and book for you too. the hotel itself is clean and the pool area a great relief in the sticky heat. the Room was an ideal size for us, although on the small side for some people, they have water to drink provided at every opportunity and use of a fridge in the rooms at no added cost.

Not the "Obvious Tourist"Posted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: The Location and the various local eating places that are all around
Cons: The cost of eating food at the Hotel Restaurant did not give value for money compared to what's available in the area.
Location: It's in a traditional part of Singapore and is safe to walk around
My wife & I recently stayed at the Nostalgia Hotel for 5 nights. I made this decision based on the many favorable reviews this hotel received & those reviews were accurate. If you want to escape the Orchard Rd hustle & bustle then the Nostalgia Hotel is a good option. There are plenty of local eating places within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. When i travel i don't like to stand out as being the "obvious tourist" so the location of the Nostalgia suited us. The staff are very friendly and good at their jobs. We had a couple of problems with a tour that was pre-booked and they were only too keen to assist. There were a couple of things that may surprise when you see your rooms, yes they are small but the beds aren't that suitable if you're over 6 ft tall or 182 cm. Your feet will stick out at the end of the bed!

Small and basicPosted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: Location near where I was attending a business meeting.
Cons: Breakfast quality.
Location: I was there purely to sleep for one night. Looked to be a nice area and was close to business area.
I was arriving in Singapore late and just had one night and early checkout before attending a business meeting nearby. It was convenient location wise and the price was OK given the expensiveness of Singapore but by no means cheap. The room was tiny and any more that one night would have been a problem for me. Breakfast was very basic.

Welcoming boutique hotel with friendly staffPosted Jun 24, 2013
Pros: Very happy and helpful staff
Cons: We stayed for a week so would have liked more storage space in the room and ensuite.
Location: Close to local food market and plenty of restaurants. Short walk to bus stop and about 700metres to the MRT. Taxis can be picked up quite easily.
Friendliest and most helpful hotel staff we have come across. Excellent team work amongst them. They all appear to enjoy their work. The General Manager was out and about talking with guests and providing a very hospitable environment. The rooms are small which didn't unduly worry us as we were out and about most of the time. Our room was at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet with a comfortable bed so we slept well. We had a few nice meals at the hotel which has a Western style menu but we really wanted to enjoy Singaporean food. We had quite a few meals locally and enjoyed visiting the Tiong Bahru Market to mix with local residents. From the market it was easy to get a taxi, not as easy in front of the hotel which is a busy thoroughfare. Great place to stay as guests are made very welcome and are well looked after.

Great Boutique Hotel in SingaporePosted Jun 22, 2013
Pros: The very friendly staff, comfy bed, and location. The hotel was also very clean as well.
Cons: The restaurant seemed over priced for what it was, especially with lots of other options nearby.
Location: Tiong Bahru Hawker Market, Tiong Bahru Bakery (great breakfast and coffee), Chinatown, and Riverfront walkway. Metro is only a 10 min walk away.
I booked this hotel after seeing reviews on trip advisor. I was looking for an alternative to the big chain conference hotel that seemed too expensive. I am glad I booked this hotel instead of the Grand Copthorne Waterfront ( where I made the mistake of ordering a simple cup of coffee during the conference that cost $10). The Nostaglia was $50 used less a night. The staff was very friendly, it was a great location, and comfortable, albeit, small rooms. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again if I am ever back in Singapore.
