Pros: 雰囲気、サービス
Cons:

Novel place to stay

Posted Jan 21, 2015
The staff were attentive. However, I was disgusted to find someone's used plaster stuck to a bath towel that I had started to use. I felt sick at the thought. The director of staff apologised and as we had an evening flight, my sister asked for a late check out which the director agreed to.

Legendary colonial style hotel in the heart of SP!

Posted Jan 20, 2015
This was not our first experience with Raffles, but firts in Singapore. Do you want to get something totally different and unique? Then you should aim to staying there! Starting from the warm welcome, going into non standard personalised check in process sipping welcome Singapore Sling, looking around at colonial style interior... Well, you'll be really amazed! Go into legendary Long Bar, grab a nice steak, slip in a nice old-style spacious room... That is what makes this place SPECIAL!

A walk down British Colonial Lane

Posted Jan 18, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing: it is perfection personified
Location: Conveniently located within easy reach of museums, restaurants, bars, and casinos.
We were upgraded to a fabulous suite in the old hotel, with all the comforts one could ever hope for. The staff provided first class service in the restaurants, bars and all other facilities. The assistant Manager gave us an hour long history tour of the hotel, including VIP and Presidential Suites and the "Hall of Fame" with photos of many of their illustrious past and present guests. The only caveat would be that it is expensive.

Luxurious old worlde charm

Posted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: Old Worlde charm and its history.
Cons: Without detracting from the exclusivity of the hotel, perhaps the menu could include some dishes aimed at the budget conscious travellers.
Location: With its easy access to the MRT in nearby Raffles City, all of Singapores attractions are within a short travelling time.
Stayed in a State Room inclusive of breakfast. Large bedroom with separate sitting room/study and marble tiled bathroom. If you have read about Raffles Hotel in the old days, this must be a hint of what it was like - with modern technology! Spacious rooms which were in excellent condition and very clean. When we arrived at the front of the hotel our luggage was taken and we saw it when we arrived in our room. We didn't have to queue at reception, we were welcomed and shown to armchairs, drinks were offered, our passports taken to check us in and then our room keys were brought to us. From the time we arrived to the time we left everyone was courteous, polite and helpful and made our stay memorable. This was a special treat as the prices are high and certainly not for the faint hearted or those watching their pennies. A great way to relax, just taking a stroll through the gardens, sitting in the many comfortable chairs inside or out, or at the rooftop pool and bar. Over the road is Raffles City mall with plenty of eating places and at the lower budget there is a food court on the third floor. Just over the road from the Mall is Chijmes, a converted convent with more bars and restaurants and of course, there is the MRT (tube) from under Raffles City to access great shopping a few minutes away at Orchard Road. Spoil yourselves in history!!

Raffles under threat from new hotels

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: The spacious charming rooms, staff, and the facilities offered by the hotel
Cons: the big hotel can be confusing at times, better signs.
Location: Location could not be better, very central, visit to museum, interesting sights and MRT station locations.
I had a wonderful experience with my 6 day stay at Raffles. This colonial hotel is under threat from newer hotels, however the charm and ambience cannot be replicated by other hotels. infact my stay was better than the one in original Taj in Mumbai which is in many ways comparabe to Raffles.

Old fashioned, museum-like hotel

Posted Dec 26, 2014
Pros: The atmosphere is great and Singaporean history can be surely found here. If you want to escape from the modern buildings and artificial shopping cent
Cons: Stood up staff should come back down to earth and re-learn customer service and retain customer satisfaction on a 21st century level.
Location: Great location!
Overall very old - building, facilities, old-fashioned rooms smelling like mold with terrible amenities, and pretty wracked areas - if you like that classic historical vibe, you'll like it. The atmosphere is great and Singaporean history can be surely found here. If you want to escape from the modern buildings and artificial shopping center city, this is the place to be. Staff is stood up, incapable of providing accurate service and overall useless. Don't count on them. Food is below average and overpriced. Bummer! For the price I paid for 2 nights (a fortune!) it wasn't worth it. Afternoon tea would've been enough. See it as a museum, stay at a newer hotel. The Ritz was by far the better choice.

Dear Bambina, Thank you for taking time to share your feedback for your recent stay with us. Raffles Singapore has been an iconic part of Singapore’s history for over 125 years and we pride ourselves on offering a haven of colonial charm and calm coupled with rich heritage and long-standing traditions. We always aim to deliver Raffles’ legendary levels of hospitality so I am very concerned to hear that your experience was not what the vast majority of our guests normally enjoy. I do apologize that our amenities did not meet your expectations and your suite had an odour upon arrival, which is certainly unusual as all suites are thoroughly cleaned and checked prior to guests’ arrival. We have taken note of your feedback and shared with the relevant departments to ensure that all suites smell fresh. I am also disappointed to learn that your afternoon tea experience was not what the vast majority of our guests normally enjoy at Tiffin Room. Our three-tier afternoon tea set consists of five different types of finger sandwiches and English Cakes such as Strawberry and Whipped Cream Tartlet, Spices and Orange Marmalade Cake, and Dark Chocolate, Raspberry and Earl Grey Tea Cake. The buffet spread has a selection of savoury and sweet items such as dim sum, Apple and Raisin Crumble, Chicken Curry Pie, Bread & Butter Pudding with Vanilla Sauce and Homemade Scones with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam. Guests would also be able to choose from a selection of 12 different premium black and green teas, such as Royal Ceylon, English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Royal Assam, Grand Darjeeling, Green Sencha, and traditional herbal infusion teas, as well as freshly brewed coffee such as espresso, cappuccino, soya cappuccino, coffee latte and coffee macchiato. Whilst I am glad to hear your commendation on the hotel history, atmosphere & location, I am concerned that you experienced some service lapses during your stay with us. We take this feedback very seriously as we pride ourselves in delivering a consistently high level of service and this is not a usual reflection of our standard. Your comments will be shared & passed to the relevant departments concerned for improvement. We are grateful for your valuable feedback as it allows us to continually monitor our guests’ requirements and work on improving these areas. I look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you back to Raffles Singapore in the future. Yours sincerely, Simon Hirst General Manager Raffles Singapore

Cons: Anything more, would mean we have died and gone to heaven!!
Location: Too Many to name - Chijmes is across thr road for a nice drnk and dinner! Everything within proximity!
Wow! If I could rate this hotel a 10 out of 5, I would gladly give it! Having travelled to various parts of the world and stayed in more hotels than the average person, The Raffles Hotel stands out as the clear winner, bar none. We are currently in Singapore on a family vacation from the US with our two little boys aged 2 and 4. My wife and I have not had a romantic evening to ourselves in the past 4 years and we decided to take advantage of family here in Singapore to leave the boys with, while we spent a night, just the two of us, at The Raffles. What a treat it was!!! From the time of check in and throughout our stay, we had a blast....bringing back fond memories of when we were dating! Nikki, from the front desk, had our room upgraded to the 'Personality Suite' as the original suite we were booked into was unavailable. That meant us having to wait in the hotel lobby for an additional hour while our upgraded room was being prepped, and for the 'inconvenience' (which we didn't think it was, as we were getting loaded up on Singapore Slings!!), we were provided a complimentary dinner for 2 at the famous Tiffin Room at the hotel. Needless to say, the food was great! We are now about a week out before we return to Singapore and I am frantically trying to book another night at the Raffles before we have to return home to the reality of New Jersey, US. If you are looking for a great hotel to spend the night amidst history, I would certainly suggest the Raffles! Shanker N., NJ.

Must do!!

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: everything, including the restaurants, café, outdoor sitting area, beautifully landscaped and maintained gardens.
Cons: air conditioning noisy, room fan a little noisy, could have more light for reading in bed.
Location: excellent, plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping close by with Orchard Rd being a 5 minute taxi ride.
Great experience with very friendly staff and nothing a problem. Well located with plenty of restaurants, shopping, cafe's near-by.
