“Not impressed. Deteriated considerably in the last several years.”
The hotel has degraded since I first went there several years ago. It is not worth the cost. Room make up was poor and communication with front desk was bad. Service has fallen apart. It is far from a 4 star hotel. Rooms are old and need major repairing. Internet service was deplorable for the cost per day; often one would wait for minutes. Below standard for the cost. Front desk has a problem with communication and not service orientated.
“Just Loved it!!!”
I arrived at 9pm after a long flight, the welcome was warm, the check-in, efficient and the room amazing! Í guess there was a degree of luck that I was on the 63rd floor overlooking Marina Bay, but it was stunning!! Throughout my stay ALL the staff were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is in a central location, well served with taxis and MRT, but many of the iconic places to visit in the city are withing walking distance. Champagne Brunch in the Equinox was memorable and resonably priced. And finally, I easily extended my check out to 4pm on my day of departure.
“Free WiFi Dispute”
Expedia says the Internet is included in the price but the hotels says no, and they asked for proof from Expedia. I don't recall Expedia would have all amenities printed in the booking confirmation message. This will become an issue because the hotel will charge an arm and leg for the Internet access.
“Wonderful stopover”
We stayed in Singapore for just 2 days -1 night to break the trip home to Australia from Europe. From the firendly greeting and quick check-in to our late check-out everything was great. Drinks on the 70th floor provided a remarkable view of SIngapore. Wish we had styed longer!
“All Good in Singapore”
The location and staff were perfect. Great pool area with bar and happy hours daily. Our room was clean and well stocked. Daily refreshing of shampoo etc if needed. The only negative was there was not wireless included in expedia cost. By now I just expect it to be part of the hotel stay. Otherwise, we found the subway easy to navigate, the people helpful and the overall trip was wonderful. Would recommend.
“Awesome view and excellent location”
Try the bar on the 70th floor, the best view of Singapore.
“Dissapointed”
I have stayed at this hotel many times before, being a frequent traveler to Singapore. Firstly the hotel has a great location, convenient to shops, restaurants, trains and all Singapore has to offer. The views from most of its rooms are excellent. However, you do pay a premium for these assets, but do not get the service one would expect from a premium 5 star hotel. The staff are inflexible, unwilling to help and do not understand the meaning of "customer service". If you pay for a premium room, with views and large bed etc, do not expect that they will honor the booking. If they are full, which they often are, they will try to pass you off onto a lesser grade of room, claiming that room grades are not guaranteed, despite the fact that you have paid a premium for such a room type. Further, especially if you are a business traveler, you may want to avoid this hotel as they charge exorbitant rates for internet usage. In most other 5 star hotels I stay at these days, internet usage is included in the price as it is considered as essential as TV or telephone. Not here. And the price for one days use will cost you as much as one months usage back home. Disgraceful!!
“Will go back to stay”
Best hotel. I got the very good room with the good view from the terrace. I could see the Cathedral Church and Marina Bay Sand. Near to Funan Electronic Centre.
“Swissotel Review”
This hotel is lovely and the service we received was excellent. Great views out over the harbour to Marina Bay Sands. Very comfortable. A $5 - $10 cab ride from Orchard Road. 2 minute walk to Raffles. I couldn't believe that the only internet available in the room was via ethernet and that you had to pay such high prices for it. If I'm paying that price, I want Wireless.
“Horror Story”
I ordered and paid for a king size bed , smoking room. I received two beds, non-smoking. That was just the beggining. Arrived around midnight with my significant other. The room was 25 degrees C, and air conditioner was not working. At two A.M., a techincian arrived and fiddled around for 5 minutes, told us it was fixed and left. At 4 AM 9 (We could not sleep) we called again and a non-technician arrived who told us they would fix the airconditioner at 7 AM. Nobody arrived at 7. At 10AM, we called agian. a new technician came and told us a valve was bad and it would take 3 hours to purchase and install. he gave us a fan, and stated the hotel would move us to another room if it was not fixed in 3 hours. This never happened. Nobody showed up to put in new valve and the hotel front desk stated they were full and no other rooms were available. SHAME ON THIS HOTEL. THEY RUINED OUR MINI_VACATION. I had TRAVELED 9 Hours from Korea to meet my girlfriend, and wound up tortured big-time. Very sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Experience, to say the least.
