Nostalgic stay at Singapore Resort & Spa - Sentosa

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: The overall ambiance - gardens and the black tiled pool - and transport arrangements for accessing other attractions on Sentosa and the Singapore CBD
Cons: Some staff at breakfast room were obviously inexperienced and not up to the pressure of a busy breakfast room.
Location: Quiet and leafy location, with courtesy transport to Sentosa's many attractions and beach restaurants. Great golf course opposite the front entrance
Our fourth visit to this resort over a period of 20 years - essentially the same resort set-up and facilities and well worth a visit if you want gracious quiet and relaxation. The coincidental visit by Michelin starred London chef Alyn Williams, at the Cliff Restaurant was a highlight as a birthday treat for my wife. His 7 course degustation menu was superb and not hugely costly (if you avoided the accompanying open glass wine offer). The pool area is a special attraction and is very well managed. The only real downside was the board-like hardness of the King size bed in our "Luxury Room", which was about as hard and uncomfortable as any we have experienced anywhere in the world. It took the edge of an otherwise pleasantly presented and good sized Luxury Room. Transport arrangements to other attractions on Sentosa and the courtesy bus to the Orchard Road area (Paragon Plaza) were very helpful. Staff responsiveness was very good although the breakfast room staff seemed to change daily and some were clearly out of their depth. The supervisor personally tried hard to please and covered for some odd junior staff missteps.

Quiet and Relaxing Hotel

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: The relaxed atmosphere
Cons: Responsiveness of the staff and more flexibility with room availability
Location: Good views
This was my third stay at this hotel. Dining here is expensive and not necessarily worth the price. Experienced what they always tell you - that the hotel is very busy and full. Which it isn't - so it is quite disappointing to find that you don't have a room ready when you arrive and also that if you ask for a small extension to the room before you leave (flights are rarely early) then they tell you the hotel is packed and infact it is really empty.

Good quality hotel, very comfortable, excellent facilities and customer service. Downside, very expensive to eat & drink (but common in Singapore).

Very nice hotel .

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Easy bus free to vivo shopping . Free bus also around Sentosa. Staff very good.
Cons: Meals are good but the prices are a bit high.
Location: Universal Studio . S.e.a. Aquarium. Merlion. Beaches cable car ride. Taxi rides to Zoo . Night safari . River Safari. Singapore Flyer.
This hotel while the room may have been a little tired was very comfy. Staff were excellent. We had a couple of meals which were very good. Mostly ate out only for economy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to go back next year. Well done to all the staff. Thank you.

Relaxing resort - well priced

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Grounds were beautiful and well kept.
Cons: Resort decor need updating.
Location: Location was good and all Sentosa activities were available via shuttle bus service
Resort is a little dated and decor slightly shabby and location is quite a way from Sentosa Island activities but accessible easily by regular shuttle. Restaurant food choices were extensive and prices reasonable compared to beach restaurants. Gym was a little too far away from actual resort to be an option.

Nice hotel in Sentosa

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Its peaceful and quiet. Great pool.
Cons: Cost of meals is a bit pricey. Extend Shuttle services to Vivocity for another hour.
Location: Resorts World Universal Studios
Good service, rooms are nice and spacious. Rooms were clean, and food at the restaurants was good. A bit far from all other areas in Sentosa. You need to catch a taxi to get to the resort from Vivocity after 10:30 pm.

Rare resort set-up in the heart of Singapore!

Posted Jul 12, 2014
We have always been staying in the smaller hotels in Orchard Road so we were pleasantly surprise to find a resort in Singapore complete with peacocks and koi ponds (which the kids love) and close to the beach too! The rooms were pleasantly large and had a separate foyer entrance, the shower and bath area was huge. For similar type rooms in the Orchard Road vicinity, it would cost a fortune as the set up was almost like a suite! The hotel is also connected to the beach via a wooden walkway, about a 5-10 minute walk.

Not quite as good as previously.

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The gardens, the pool, proximity to beach, calm and quiet atmosphere.
Cons: The resident peacocks need to be culled. Once a charming feature, they have grown in numbers and are now a real nuisance.
Location: Beautiful garden setting, low rise environment on Sentosa Island. We are there for an R and R break in a transworld journey. Its ideal for this.
We have stayed in this hotel several times before and we have found it great value for money. This time we thought our room was looking a little tired, and even a bit scruffy in places.
