central location

Pros: The location is perfect-off the main road but accessible to the sights I wanted to see.
Cons: Breakfast was not available; they sent me to another hotel which had a menu about twice the price.
Location: The Russian blockhouse (not original); the castle hill site of the transfer from Russia to the US; the Russian Orthodox Church; and shopping area are
The staff were efficient for everything after check-in. They did have trouble finding my reservation but once located, all went well. The room overlooked the harbor which was very nice for photography. The shuttle in from the ferry terminal was efficient.

Fair hotel, check other options first!

Pros: Not much. Bed was clean and room was quiet. Front desk staff was nice and very helpful.
Cons: To much to list. Restaurant needs the most improvement, eat at your own risk you were warned.
Location: Nice location downtown.
Room- it was clean and kept. Toilet seat did not fit the toilet bowl (oval seat on a round bowl). Had to have room key card programmed at least once sometimes twice a day on 4 a day stay. Restaurant- look for someplace else to eat! McDonalds serves better food. Food was the worst I have eaten in that town. Drinks were nothing more than colored water, sent them back and was still charged for the colored water. Wait staff never came and asked how food was or if we needed anything else.

Nice hotel close to everything downtown

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: It was close to downtown and pioneer home.
Cons: The coffee shop was not open. They could have provided better selection of things to eat.
Location: Short walk to restraurants and shopping. There was a herring opening and a short walk to view all the activity.
Staff was nice. Appreciated the shuttle to and from the airport. The room was clean but nothing special. Nice view and close to the water.

O.K. for a short stay.

The shuttle driver started off without shutting the door. One passenger was still loading and would have been injured if another passenger hadn't pulled him in. Other than that the staff was fine.

Nice place to stay on the waterfront in Sitka.

It's a nice hotel on the waterfront in downtown Sitka. Everything was excellent. It's pricey compared to similar hotels in the lower 48, but everything is pricey in Alaska. I've stayed at the Super 8 in Sitka, which was not a good experience. For the extra $60 a night I would always stay at the Shee Atika.

Totem Square Inn - Sitka

Hotel was close to everything but next to a really noisy bar and apparently the locals really like to party loudly. If you stay at this hotel, opt for rooms on the entry sid and not on the back side. Other than that, hotel was clean, staff was nice and the restaurant was good.
