We loved our stay at this hotel. Although the rooms aren’t fancy, they were clean and comfortable for the night. What made this hotel great was the staff, cute bar upstairs with happy hour and a nice view of the mountains, the delicious dinner and free breakfast and the proximity to a walking path to see the glacier and easy access to Skaftafell fans the hike to Svartifoss.

This is a three star property. It was clean and the staff was nice. However Everything is oks. The walls are thin and you hear every sound from surrounding rooms. There are limited electrical outlets. The towels were thin and very hard. It met our basic needs.

We were pleasantly surprised that we could walk to a glacier from the property in 30 minutes! One of the best events of our trip. Dinner and complementary breakfast were outstanding . Five stars for sure!

The staff were nice, but I ate something bad at the restaurant and was puking all night. Avoid the restaurant, which was also pricy.

Convenient location for exploring the South Coast. Very clean, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.

Clean and as described in advertisement. One desk clerk had a bit of an attitude but maybe it was just an off day for her. Wake up call offered for Northern Lights! Dinner was OK. Breakfast Buffet was good!

Excellent location for northern lights
Location great for activities in Skaftfell area. Cosy and comfortable room. Northern lights alert was brilliant & much appreciated. Breakfast very good.

The hotel was just ordinary. As lot of other reviewers mentioned, the only advantage of this hotel is its location. Its just 20mins walk away from one of the tails of Vatnajokull glacier - Svínafellsjökull Glacier. Apart from location, this hotel is more like a motel which is in dire need of renovation. Rooms are small and old and beds are very low height. There are generally no views from the room and the radiator is not effective enough. Staff were just ok.

Fabulous hotel with a glacier behind it
Very well located hotel, right off the Ring Road. They ask you if you want a wake up call if the northern lights are showing. The person at the front desk called us twice and we saw the best northern lights of our vacation. There is a trail behind the hotel which leads to a glacier and small lagoon. The included breakfast was delicious! One of my favorite hotels during our Iceland trip.

Our overall stay was pretty good, however, our room had a very strong mold odor. We kept the window open to help, but it was pretty bad. We informed the wonderful and friendly desk attendant. Breakfast was included, and was good with lots to chose from. I would stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Dining room offers wonderful dinner. We stayed 12 nights total in iceland; each at different hotel; few offered full meals for dinner. Rooms are small but beds were comfortable.

Very good location when touring the Ring Road. Good breakfast buffet and plenty of tables to sit down and eat. Northern Lights call available, just ask the front desk. Showers were quite small and the rooms were serviceable. For the price, I don't think we would stay here again.

This property was conveniently located near the glaciers where we had booked a glacier walk (a short drive). We also discovered, on a walk behind the property, beautiful views of glaciers and icebergs, without the crowds!! Accommodation clean and adequate. Complimentary breakfast had lots of choice. We chose not to eat at the property but ate at the roadhouse opposite... a very short walk.

Nice Hotel with a good shower
We enjoyed our stay. We were a little worried about the shower, but it ended up being the best shower of our trip, and it didn't smell like sulfer. I think the only thing we were missing was a wash cloth.

Read some mixed reviews about this property but I was very happy with it. The hotel is very close to a glacier and you can get very close to it. It is close to several other activities. A very good breakfast is served daily and the gas station across from the hotel also has very good food. I would stay here again.

This is a clean, modern, quiet property. The receptionist was very welcoming and asked whether our son would like a larger bed since one had become available since making our reservation months ago. That was a nice touch! The breakfast buffet was delicious and had many options. In fact, this was the best breakfast we ate all week! (We love breakfasts!) It was constantly stocked while we were eating in the dining room. The only 'negative' is the price. We wish it would have been lower...but there aren't many options in that area, so they have a captive audience.

Very friendly reception upon arrival. Food for both dinner and breakfast was very good. Pretty scenery around the hotel. Hotel is basic European hotel. Rooms are small but has everything you need. We stayed one night as I believe is common as it is a good stay near the glacier and glacier lagoon.
