My room number was 105, 1st floor in Alleghany Springs. The dishwasher needed to be reattached to the wall, the 2 screws were clearly sitting on the counter above, but this was not repaired before our stay. Each time opened, the DW jarred forward, ugh! The room was clean, & adequate for the 4 of us, realizing that sofa beds are never the most comfortable.

We have stayed here numerous times. The units need some TLC (blinds broken, etc). We requested 2 extra blankets and 2 extra pillows but despite talking to the front desk and the cleaning crew, we never received them. I asked for extra towels but they said they would charge extra for those. It’s very convenient for skiing so we like the location but the front desk staff are less than helpful and don’t act like they want to be there.

Majestic winter experience.
Excellent in all aspects, plenty of heat with the temperatures outside dropping to -1°F Fahrenheit on the morning of departure. The room had a beautiful fireplace.

I booked via Expedia and selected a studio with a balcony. Upon arrival I was put into a room w/o a balcony and smelled like something I can't even describe, not good. Went back to the office and they did put us in a new room. We were also charged an additional $145.00 when checking in for maintenance, cleaning fee. It wasn't a security deposit as they informed us at checkout that it's on top of the room rate. This made no sense as it should have been listed as a separate charge within Expedia. We were told to park within the Mountain Lodge parking area which is gated. The 2nd day upon arriving back at the property we were told this was ONLY for Mountain Lodge residents and we would be towed if we parked there. The attendant directed us to a tiny parking area behind the gated one which wasn't convenient for my handicapped wife. Overall our time at the Allegheny Springs was ok. The heated pool and hot tubs were very nice. Let's just try and add the extra fee to the reservation process via all the locations that handle Allegheny Springs. Also, clearly articulating where to park will avoid unnecessary grief.

First time in this area. Great, centrally located property with lots of restaurants, shops, slopes, in your backyard, even a Starbucks :). We were surprised to find a kitchenette loaded with coffee pot, utensils, tea kettle, plates/cups, refrigerator, microwave and beyond. All of this came in handy :). Appreciated the ease of check-in, pulled in dropped off our stuff and were able to immediately occupy our room and explore the area.

Great room and a great location
The hotel location was amazing! Right on the slopes! Right in the middle of the village, walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops and a grocery store. The room included a kitchen with full size stove, a fireplace and balcony. I will definitely stay here again!

We had a blast skiing and it was wonderful being able to step out the side door and literally be on the slopes. Our fireplace in our room didn't work at first and we called maintenance and they came to fix it but it then stopped again. I did not call again so we never used it the rest of the trip.

The check in was easy, I got charged an additional $166.00 that I was unaware of, the room was very nice with full kitchen, nice big smart TV and living room set. I was unaware that you had to request maid service in order for them to come and give you towels, garbage bags and remove your garage, ect. I asked the maids if they won't remove my garbage, towels and give me new ones and I was told that I needed to request maid service and that the garbage needs to go down to the bottom floor. She went ahead and took my garbage and gave me new bags but wanted me to be informed for the rest of my stay. I believe I should of been told this at check in about the extra fee as well as the maid service protocol. Check out was easy, just leave the electronic keys by the telephone and call a number for express check out. Also, the ice maker and the soda machine were not working, or at least the soda machine would not take my dollar bills, but they did sell sodas at the front desk. Overall the place was very warm and the people were very friendly.

The best thing is the location - it’s in the main village and steps away from the top of the ski slopes. So step outside and you can head down the mountain or go to restaurants and shop. The wifi worked well. My room had a gas fireplace, which was nice. There are a few downsides, though. Parking is outdoors and down the block, so you have to unload luggage then drive to the parking lot and walk back. The line for the front desk to check in was long, and the person who checked me in seemed confused by the whole process, was unable to give me basic information, and it took a long time. The rooms are cleaned only if you are staying 4 days or longer, and if so they clean halfway through your stay. The walls are thin and you can hear everything in the hallway. There is no luggage storage and checkout is at 11am. Finally, when you book on Expedia, the price does not include resort fees of over $30 per day that the hotel charges when you get there.

My husband and I took our 2 1/2 year old grandson for a 2 night stay. He had an awesome time. It was a little chilly but that was ok because the indoor/outdoor pool was heated and that's where he wanted to be. The chair lift was a big hit too! There are so many activities available for older kids that we can't wait to bring him again.

Awesome Easter 2018 Weekend!
Great location, right in the heart of the village, on the mountain, easy ski in/ski out. We had an awesome weekend. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tub, warm pool and the kids had lots of fun with the Easter egg hunt that the village organized. We will be coming back!

My husband wanted to ski so we stayed at Snowshoe. The lodging was fantastic, loved the kitchen so we could fix our own breakfast and lunch.

Broken door to fire escape. Total fire hazard. Room wasn’t vacuumed when we arrived but staff refused to clean because you have to pay extra for cleaning if your there for less than 4 days. Found a hair clip and a Milk Dud under the fold out couch. Fireplace didn’t work. Lobby’s was fiilthy along with the furniture. Didn’t mop the floor or wipe off the tables at all during the 3day stay. I found a New Years noise maker wedged in the crack at the fireplace. Expressed my disappointment to the manager and all he said was that they would try to get to the Lobby when they had a chance. I told him that we were in the middle of a flu epidemic and the children and adults were susceptible to germs and lack of hygiene. He offered to give me a full discount if I could be out in 2 hrs. Well it was already 4 p.m. on a ski weekend Friday. There was no way I could collect my family from the slopes, pack everything up, and somehow find an open room in such a short time. So rather than send someone up to do a quick vacuum and also wet mop the lobby floor, he claimed that was the best he could do. SOOOO disappointing for such a nice location.

This was our first trip to Snowshoe and the hotel location and value was great. The hotel room wasn't clean, pistachio nuts and soda bottles were under the beds when we checked in. The room service replaced towels but didn't do much else. I would stay here again because of the location and value.

Very Good Experience
The primary draw to Allegheny Springs is it's proximity to the village and the slopes - you never have to return to your car or hop a shuttle bus (unless you are headed to Silver Creek). Although it's showing it's age a little bit, the facility is quite nice - it's own pool and hot tub; ski lockers in a room that exits to slopes; and a "great room" in which you can relax by the fire and play checkers. Snowshoe is the best ski experience in the mid-Atlantic; and Allegheny Springs is one of the better places to stay at Snowshoe.

We only have one complaint. We didn't have Wi-Fi in our room , just in the lobby until we experienced the inconvience of our pass keys not working and were locked out of our room after hours. Then the staff offered us the code to get a Wi-Fi connection in our room. Why couldn't they do that to start with and we wouldn't have had to be out of our room after desk hours!

Great location, right in the middle of the village. It is ski in ski out, but you do have to get your ski rentals 2 buildings down but not too far. Each room comes with a free ski locker. Does have a heated outdoor pool and hot tub which are very relaxing along with a gym and dry sauna. Beware there is no cell phone service anywhere near the mountain, but thankfully there is wifi here. Only issue I had was check in isnt until 5pm- So we skied all day and checked in later. This is my new favorite spot so maybe i shouldn't be leaving this review haha.

Don't expect a lot in the fall season.
This was our first visit to Snowshoe. We had check-in at mountaintop check-in before going to our resort. This was not told to us prior to our reservations. After check-in, we drove to Allegheny Springs and were greeted very cordially by Jack. He was very outstanding. A.S. offers valet parking ($10 per night) and we took it the first night. Our room was very nice and cozy. However, the bed and pillows were very soft. We had a nice studio room with a view of the heated pool and hot tub. I was told that the heated pool would not be open because the resort was going to close it the week prior. Had we known it would still be open, we would have brought swim suits. We had a wonderful fire place that heated the room very well. We used the water from the kitchen faucet to make coffee and it was not good. The coffee had a sour taste even with sugar added. If you go in October, do not expect to find many places to eat at the resort. We had dinner at The Junction restaurant and it was one of two restaurants that were still open. We were planning to have breakfast at The Junction restaurant the next morning, but they closed for the remainder of the fall. They were not opening until the snow arrived. Plan on bringing food, if you plan to visit in the fall. Good restaurants are scarce. It's a nice place to visit, but I'm not sure if we will return.
