A beautiful spot for a getaway.

Pros: Beautiful surroundings and spacious accommodation.
Location: In the Snowy Mountains on the border of the Kosciusko National Park.
We had a wonderful, quiet and relaxing stay. We were out of season and out of school holidays, so it was very quiet, although there is plenty for more active visitors to do. Our very comfortable and spacious apartment was on the lake (the balcony was suspended above the water) from which we had changing but always beautiful views. We were glad of the many heaters provided and I am sure that in winter the wood fire would be most welcome. The major restaurant was closed the nights we were there which was a pity as they offer several tasty-sounding g-f dishes. The Alpine Larder served us a tasty breakfast.

We were a group of six. Two 3 bed self care apartments. Three nightsspent there. Beautiful lake side situation. Wild life aplenty. All in all a place to which one would return. We drove for 11 hours each wayto come and go. Worth the effort.

Our stay at the Lake Crackenback Resort was fantastic! The apartments are spacious, comfortable and positioned on Lake Crackenback itself. My children and I enjoyed the amazing water sports on offer- kayaks, canoe's and paddleboards. We enjoyed the many bush walks surrounding the resort, especially the paved path around the lake itself, this was spectacular, and easy for the children. What a beautiful place! We cant wait to return. My only complaint was that I felt the staff at the few restaurants/cafe's were really aloof and unfriendly - as the apartments are self catering - I would skip the cafe's all together next time and cook myself.

It's like being in a movie

An open fireplace, look to a snowy mountain, and a lake just outside the balcony. You can even feed the ducks and try your luck at some fishing. It's like being in a movie... and living it.
