Great location, a pleasant place to stay.

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Location, friendly staff, cleanliness.
Cons: Maybe a comfortable chair in the room.
Location: Go to the fantastic archeological museum (the National Institute of Archaeology).and the underground ancient crypts of Saint Sofia Church.
The location could not be more central; you're across the street from the back of the parliament building. I had emailed them to assure that we had two single beds instead of one double bed and was told to book a particular kind of room via Expedia to get two beds. When I arrived they seemed to have no knowledge of that but quickly accommodated by giving us a two-bed room. Staff very helpful and friendly, hotel attractive. Rooms simple in terms of furnishings (e.g., only simple wooden chairs, a ledge that works somewhat as a desk, a TV, and the beds) but very clean. Free wifi. Sofia was great for the day we were there but might not wear well (as service is not always great and, while a number of Bulgarians were quite friendly and helpful, it just doesn't feel overall like a very welcoming place). But we were sorry to leave this hotel.

Location, Location, Location

I stay here every time I'm in Sofia. Staff is always friendly, the rooms are extremely inexpensive considering the location. Rooms are comfy, but sorta' small.

Excellent hotel in great location.

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: My impression is that they are doing things right. We did not eat breakfast at the adjacent restaurant (it seemed pricey at 10 euros, for Sofia).
Location: Everything of interest is within 2/3 of a mile.
I chose the Arte Hotel for its location in the center of Sofia but I was somewhat hesitant given the very low cost of the room (US $42/night). The room was fine: clean, good sized, nice mattress, flat screen TV, etc., etc. Hotel staff were very helpful, much more than at most hotels. The location is great, walking distance to almost anything you'd want to see or do in Sofia. We did two day trips from Sofia (Rila Monastery and the Rose Valley) and it was easy given the location.

Convenient hotel, close to city centre

Posted May 7, 2014
Pros: Good value for money with clean and pleasant rooms.
Cons: No improvements necessary given the value of the hotel.
Location: Located on Blvd Aleksander Donduukov, a few blocks from the intersection of Blvd Maria Luiza, the hotel is conveniently located to main attractions.
Pleasant hotel, easy to find/access via car and on weekends with free parking in "Blue Zone" parking areas outside the hotel. Rooms are clean, reasonably equipped with TV, mini bar refrigerator & WiFi. Easy 5-10' walk to main streets for restaurants/cafes/bars.

Nice hotel in the center of the city

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location - with cleanliness and friendliness thrown in on top!
Cons: Firmer beds. The bed I slept in was a bit too soft. Kept rolling to the center.
Location: Centrally located! Can walk everywhere - and the metro is on the next corner.
What a little gem! The location can NOT be beat. Add the cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff, and you have a winning combination. Arte Hotel is located in the middle of everything. We were able to walk the city highlights throughout the day, but we were never very far from the hotel. Talk about centrally located! We'll definitely be back - and we've already referred others to the Arte Hotel.

Handy stopover in Sofia

Posted Mar 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Arte Hotel is in a great location, and it a good 3 star - rooms are very clean and functional and the bed was nice and comfortable. However, it had one VERY unfriendly unhelpful lady on reception, who I think would be better off placed in a back office out of sight of customers. Otherwise, other staff members were friendly and accommodating and the hotel is a good stopover while visiting Sofia.
