Great Hotel a few steps from main streetPosted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: Location price
Location: Well located, main street a few minutes walk (2min max)
I have stayed in Sofia about 4 times on business in various hotels ranging from the well known brands to local 4 / 5 star hotels. I can say that this is one of the better hotels in terms of location and comfort. My room was large, has a small kitchenette and is on a quiet st about 100m from main street of Vitosha. Overall, I will use this as my base when in Sofia on business. Rooms are clean, well appointed, large and functional. This is not a 5 star branded hotel, but if its good value for money then this is it. Breakfast was ok, eggs toast etc and made for you, again, for the price the next comparable hotel is 2x this cost. Location outside - a bar next door, grocery store nearby and the main st a few minutes walk Wifi worked well and i was able to stream TV and have vid conferences

We really enjoyed our stay at the St George Hotel. We stayed for our first six nights in Bulgaria while my husband attended a conference, then returned for a final night after travelling around the country for another 6 days. The building and the rooms are very up-to-date and very clean. Breakfast was served individually on a lovely terrace. The staff was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed talking with them. We liked the neighborhood. Real people live there, and there are many small food shops and a few cafes. A few small-scale clothing designers have boutiques there as well. (You do have to watch your step on the uneven pavement.) Meanwhile, you can walk to all the major tourist sites. In summary, I would highly recommend this hotel to travellers who enjoy a friendly staff in a pleasant and clean environment.

Avoid this HotelPosted Jul 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The physical structure is attractive. The staff are pleasant. The location is fine. That's where it ends. We travel by car at least 150 days per year, on 3 continents. This hotel ranks as low as we recall. They advertise their standard rooms have kitchens: untrue. ( pay more than you agreed to and VOILA! ...you have a kitchen.) They advertise they have parking: untrue..they have nothing and no recommendations where to find any at any price. The parking is so bad one cannot even stop a small car in front of the hotel. They advertise they have black-out drapes: untrue. It goes on: the air conditioning is completely inadequate for an average July, 2013, day. The kitchen has only one 4 liter pot for maybe cooking rice, and nothing else...no frypan, saucepan, bowls, dish soap, kitchen towels, cloths or sponges, etc, and the fridge did not work until they replaced it. The stove did not work for the first day and night of our stay. The staff blamed most everything on an unseen owner.

Good spot.Posted May 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Excellent location for exploring Sofia. Rooms large and friendly helpful staff. Only negative was that some rooms still seem to be for smokers and as the hotel was full we were unfortunte to get one of those rooms. Would stay here again. Travellers should beware unscrupulous taxi drivers who try to charge too much. Always check the rates, that the meter is running and you ask for a receipt.

Great hotel... just had one problemPosted May 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Had a good stay here. The location is great, the personnel were easy-going and helpful. They upgraded me to a studio upon arrival. Room was nice. Good breakfast, choice of either English-style or Continental. WI-FI worked well in my room on the 4th floor. Only negative was that my AC kept blowing a smoky odor into the room.

Great Hotel for TouristsPosted Jan 26, 2013
Pros: Location. Price
Cons: No Gym.
I have stayed at several hotels in the same area. This hotel has the lowest price for the same or better service. WiFi is always working. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Excellent location. If you are going to stay in Sofia I recommend this place.

Helpful friendly staff, clean hotel.Posted Feb 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
Friendly and helpful staff. Did a great job with English and directions. The room was clean and quite. Cigarette smoking from other guests made for bad smell. The food in restaurant was great and the price was even better. - No complaints.

Perfect reallyPosted Jan 18, 2012
Pros: Clean and easy with a big room that had a kitchenette.
Cons: It didn't have a gym, pool or anything extra like that.
Location: Quick access to Vitosha, the shopping street, as well as Patriarch Eftemi, which leads to NDKA and Popa. Central.
I've stayed in many hotels in BG for the past few years. I found this one to be the best. Clean. A nice big room with a balcony and kitchenette. The breakfast was great, big and filling. The staff spoke English and were nice. It's in a good location. If I came to Sofia for three weeks, I'd stay in the same room and be perfectly happy. I recommend it and rarely shill for such places.

Good overallPosted Jan 16, 2012
Pros: Cooking facilities
Cons: No room service (but not a problem)
Location: 100yards from main Vitosha Street, about 1 mile from the main tourist area
A good location, great value, and the benefit of both a hotel restaurant, and your own cooking facilities. Staff were very helpful with sightseeing/restaurant/shopping tips. Continental breakfast was substantial. Bathroom was modern (shower only), with good amenities.
