"Clean rooms, great location, romantic hotel"
Loved our room in this unique but pleasant hotel. Our specific room was quite large, the bathroom was so spectacular. We stayed only for one night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint would be the breakfast, there were only 2 waiters for the entire breakfast area. It was very difficult to get the correct order in and for our food and drink to arrive. Actually, I personally didn't like that the pool was not private, there was a whole party surrounding the pool, how awkward? It's not a quiet place to enjoy a nice swim. But other than that, it was a lovely hotel. I would definitely recommend.

"Just the 'best'"
The best hotel in London without a doubt - friendly, courteouse, helpful and attentive staff throughout - if anyone needs a lesson in what customer service really means just get them to visit this hotel. Perfect location for visiting london with most theatres within easy walking distance. A little pricey perhaps but well worth the extra for a good nights sleep and a relaxing stay in central London.

"great location with attentive staff, worth the $$$"
great location, great room, "Refuel" is a fun dining room. Problems the second day with WiFi but the hotel manager got it straightened out quickly: sent I.T. to install a private router on my desk that fixed it!

"The perfect location with loads of character!"
I travel frequently for my job, so I stay in dozens of fine hotels each year. I always appreciate when a property has character and there's no question that Hazlitt's has personality in spades. I loved that there was never a moment I wasn't aware of being in the heart of London. The quirks that might have bothered me elsewhere (desperately slanted floors, lack of elevator, a small bed) absolutely charmed me here - like it was all part of the experience. I felt like I was a guest in someone's quirky Soho townhouse, rather than in a generic hotel. Plus, the staff was top notch and their service impeccable. Every day, my husband and I returned from our adventures (all of which are within walking distance) to be greeted by a friendly clerk who seemed genuinely interested in our activities (and a fat resident cat who was decidedly less enthusiastic.) I can't imagine staying anywhere else in London now. Had we stayed somewhere with amenities such as a gym, a day spa, and turndown service, we'd have missed out on the feeling that we were truly somewhere different, historic, and special. If you want a cookie-cutter luxury lodging experience (which I totally appreciate when working) then this isn't the place for you. But if you want charm, personality, service, and the best possible proximity, then you'll love Hazlitt's.

"A London Treat"
1 Aldwych is a special place for all kinds of reasons: the location (if theatre or the South Bank is part of your London trip where better to stay?), the friendly efficient staff, the super comfortable rooms, the facilities (especially the gym and excellent pool) and the fantastic lobby bar to name just a few. Yes - it is expensive but this is the middle of London and a little oasis of calm amidst the bustle is worth a lot, especially if you are the sort who likes the City mayhem as long as there is somewhere to retreat to when you have has had as much of that as you really want on any given day. To sit in the bar of an evening and watch the world go by is a treat in itself.

"Great Location"
The hotel was excellent and we would return on another visit. We found the restaurants in the hotel did not have enough casual or light dining. A coffee shop style facility would have been a welcome addition so we could pop in for a light snack in the evening. Otherwise the hotel was superb.
