Disappointed to discover the swimming pool was shared for the purpose of children's swimming lessons which lasted for 2 hours. Friday afternoon 4-6pm. The parents of the children, who were having lessons, took up available pool loungers which left us nowhere to sit.

Stayed at the Ramada Solihull on 16/05/15. Check in was fast and easy by the friendly receptionist.
We were allocated room 56 on the ground floor. What a room it was the biggest hotel room I've ever been in!
Even with a Kingsize bed and a double sofa bed there was lots of room, The facilities include flat screen tv,safe, fridge, and a great selection of teas on the tray. Even better was the price £20 pounds cheaper than the Premier Inn.

Hotel was lovely, you'd never think you were close the NEC or M42!
Grounds are beautiful, they have little bunnie rabbits, ducks and geese!
Our Superior Double room was nice.
Food was lovely.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Would definitely recommend.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was OK (although it is more a 3 stars than a 4 stars) and clean. I would expect for example a short selection of teas and some biscuits. But only English Breakfast was available. In the bathroom, not much shampoo/soap was supplied (just a little sample of each… for 2 people).

After booking, I called Achill Guest House to enquire about parking and I had the pleasure of speaking to Mary to was very helpful and enthusiastic and even informed me of places I could eat that evening which was very kind of her (Re parking, there are 4 spaces on the drive which don't need to be booked in advance - there usually is a free space, but even if it is full, there is some safe on-street parking on the road opposite the guest house).
Upon arrival, I was greeted by Mary who was once again very friendly and welcoming. She showed me to the rooms upstairs and gave me a choice of rooms. I settles for room 5 which has a double bed and a view out the front of the house. Mary told me everything I needed to know and asked what time I'd be having breakfast and that was that.
The room itself was wonderful, full of character without being overbearing. There were some lovely exposed beams, a nice size en-suite and an extra heater, in addition to the central heating. I found the bed very comfortable too and had a very peaceful nights sleep.
In the morning, I came down for breakfast which was lovely and I was able to watch my choice of TV whilst eating it.
In summary, I had a very nice and comfortable stay. I almost felt like I was staying at my aunts house or something which is so much nicer that feeling like you've stayed in a hotel and it's great value for money. I'll definitely be staying here again the next time I have an event at the NEC.

Henley Lodge is in a lovely spot. loads of lovely villages and places to eat close by.
we were staying on business working at the NEC which only took 15 minuets to get there so really useful position.
Knowle close by lovely area, dorrige useful for sainsburys.
Owners were really helpful and made you feel very welcome.
We stayed in room one which I think was the biggest really comfortable, could do with a better bigger shower.
Im not the smallest bear so a bigger shower would be good lovely big bathroom so it will easily fit one in.
overall would recommend if you did not want to stay in a large faceless hotel.

About 15 km southeast of Birmingham in the West Midlands is Solihull, a mainly residential community. An affluent city, Solihull's most notable landmarks include The George (now a hotel), dating from the 16th century; and the Manor House, dating to 1495.
