Cairo, the country's capital, is situated 280 miles (451 kilometers) northwest of Soma Bay.
Don't limit yourself to Soma Bay, because Red Sea Coast has been blessed with a wealth of man-made and natural attractions just waiting to be explored. Hurghada, 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the south, and El Gouna, 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the southeast of Soma Bay are worth a visit too.
