The welcome was warm enough but i would have been disappointed if i had stayed there for holiday. The hotel just looks very tired.

Taunton*s worse hotelPosted Aug 8, 2012
Pros: THE DOOR THAT LEAD TO THE CAR PARK
Cons: HAVING TO STAY THERE THE ONE NIGHT
Location: JUST ON THE OUTSKIRT OF TOWN, A GOOD SPOT FOR TOWN AND MOTORWAY
The hotel is so dated, the owner said he could not afford to update it, it has not been painted for over 15 years, inside and out was in very poor condition, rotten woodwork, wall paper hanging off and thread bare carpets, breakfast was ok, but the owner was also the cook was dirty and unshaven, i would never stay there again. nor recommend it.

one night business stayPosted Jul 16, 2012 on Hotels.com
I really liked my room, at the top of the house (4th floor) with a cute and very practical bathroom. It was supremely comfortable, quiet, (I'm from London so this was much appreciated) plenty of hot water, I was sorry to be there for only 1 night. There is a fair amount of paintwork about the hotel which could do with attention but this did not detract from the warm welcome( very late at night as I had trouble finding it - with O2 down I couldn't call for directions) the service and the free range scrambled egg for breakfast couldn't have been better.

Did the job for a quick one night stop over, comfortable and convenient and a full English in the morning. Hotel needs some TLC though, that is clear from the outside!

old but comfortablePosted Sep 27, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel really needs some TLC. The rooms are comfortable but very dated. Could make a great stay over for 1960's lovers. The breakfast was spot on and the staff helpful, would stay again but hope there are some plans for a slash of paint.

Slum DwellingPosted Sep 13, 2011 on Hotels.com
I have never been to a hotel that has been so badly maintained and decorated. It is literally falling to bits. After managing to wrench the front door open, the smell of decay was evident. It hasn't been decorated since 1950. The bathroom had no extractor fan, the room had no fan, or plasma TV, as advertised. Smoke from other rooms permeated the hallway, although the whole hotel is supposedly non-smoking. The room is filled with extension leads, that are easy to trip over, and is very dangerous. Is this hotel actually legal? I would never recommend this 'hotel' to anybody. Dosshouse is more appropriate. Even the taps in the bathroom were the wrong way round. The good thing was, we only stayed there for two nights. Never again!!

Falcon Hotel, Henlade, Taunton, UKPosted Jun 1, 2011 on Hotels.com
The service was friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean. The building was delpidated and I was reluctant to go in. The interior was dated and tired and off putting. I decided to look at the room before deciding to stay or find somewhere else. I decided to stay and all was fine.
