Stayed for a night with my girlfriend last minute. Fantastic food, very friendly and professional. Food was quite expensive but worth every penny. Didnt have a laundry service which was a little disappointing but thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it for a couples retreat.

Pros: Food was very good.
Nice hotel, good food and pleasant staff. The rooms were comfortable with good facilites and nice little touches. Foe example fresh milk for my cup of tea. Will definitely use when in the area again.

A very nice hotel, well situated and with attentive staff. Excellent dinner menu, although somewhat on the pricey side.

The Farthings HotelPosted Aug 5, 2013
We had a most enjoyable overnight stay at The Farthings Hotel, with a very warm welcome on arrival, a large, comfortable and well equipped room and excellent service throughout our stay. Our breakfast was served in the most pleasant dining room by staff who were both friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to my family and friends and am looking forward to returning there for a longer visit.

Lovely place. Can't wait to go back!Posted Oct 19, 2012
Pros: Staff, food, books, landing fridge
Cons: Feeble wifi
Location: Quiet location in small village, yet not far from main road
Couldn't get into the Holiday Inn at Taunton, so we looked further afield and found this rural gem. Good move! Farthings has easy parking, friendly feel, delightful staff, comfortable room and excellent food. We specially liked the way piles of books were lying around here and there, in case you felt like picking one up for a quiet read; bowls of fruit were laid out in the public areas ready for snacking on; and a fridge was installed on the landing containing small jugs of fresh milk for use with the in-room teabags. The evening meal was delicious; neither of us could resist the roast partridge, so did not sample a wide range from the menu. The only tiny glitch was the feeble wifi signal, usable only in the hotel's conference room. But this could easily be boosted to reach the bedrooms. We wished we could have stayed longer, and will definitely return.
